Expecting an Irish out but the only Irish thing was the name.

The owner’s response to my review is all you need to know about this place. Asking whether I’ve been to Ireland isn’t relevant to the issues I raised. My feedback wasn’t about comparing your establishment to pubs in Ireland, it was about the experience we had at your business. I was served alcohol when I asked for a soda. The beer I did receive was warm and flat to the point of being undrinkable. Despite being presented as an Irish pub, there were no Irish menu offerings during our visit. The bartender, who also appeared to be the only cook, seemed impaired, which did not make for a comfortable atmosphere. While the burger itself wasn’t bad, we came here expecting an Irish pub experience, which your photos and branding suggest. Unfortunately, that expectation wasn’t met. Kilcoyne has great food and great service. I highly recommend this hidden gem. We were visiting from Nashville and we were looking for some good food and were not disappointed. It has a bar on one side and restaurant seating on the other, separated by the kitchen. We had our nine year old son with us and sat on the restaurant side of the building. We happened to dine in on steak night and boy, did my husband and my son enjoy their meal! One got the New York Strip and the other got the Ribeye. Both steaks came with a loaded baked potato and broccoli. They couldn't quit talking about how tasty it was. I got the Bacon, Bacon, Bacon L and T. As the name suggests, this sandwich was loaded down with crispy, tasty bacon with some lettuce and tomato and was very good. It came with chips which was a good pairing to the sandwich. The Friday night Fish Fry is amazing in taste ! The perch was fried to perfection The serving portions are large The red potatoes are perfectly seasoned Hmm I ate everything 😃 I am not a veggie fan but the veggies were delicious The coleslaw was tart justhe tre way I like it The fish fry is well attended with friendly locals and af f ew welcome strangers Everyone is treated like an old friend It's rare to see a staff always smiling and working quickly to ensure you have what you need and more fish if you have room for more!
