We ordered an order of alfredo and a large cheese pizza. I'm a member of the rewards program and have ordered pizza here for a long time, and part of why we like it here is that the staff is generally nice and the pizza is so yummy and very cheesy. We noticed the pizza we received was definitely smaller than usual, and very bare. You could see more tomato sauce and bubbles than you could see cheese. We measured it with a ruler and it was 12" in some spots, 13" in other spots. Large pizzas are supposed to be 14". It was given to us in an xl box, but the tape measure showed it didn't even measure up to a large. Maybe if it was otherwise stellar and cheesy like normal vocellis, we would have shrugged and been ok with it, but it was so dry and scarce with cheese, that we tried calling the restaurant. We spoke to a lady and told her what happened and then asked to speak to the manager, and then they hung up the phone. We called back multiple times immediately and they would not pick up. We drove all the way down there, and the manager told us that we are "seeing it wrong because it's in an xl box." We told him we measured it, but he didn't care and ignored us. We also told him that this is much less cheese than normal. Again - this pizza was only like 50% covered by cheese. He said "that's the normal cheese that we always put on" and then when we asked "well can we have some more, because this is never what our pizzas from here look like," he grabbed a handful of cheese with his hand, threw it on our now-cold pizza, closed the box, and said "look now you have EXTRA CHEESE" and scoffed at us. Super unprofessional and honestly really disappointing, because we have always had good experiences here, but now we'll just go somewhere else and have others do the same because the staff couldn't even be remotely respectful. We are not stuck up Karens by any means, some of us literally used to work in pizza shops, and just honestly wanted them to remake it, but they treated us like they thought we were idiots for asking. It was embarrassing. I have pictures of the pizza with a tape measure for size, and I have pictures of what it looked like when the manager angrily threw cheese on the pizza and gave it...
Read moreThis is our go-to place when my husband and I bike the trail from Wellsburg to Wheeling. The menu is unbelievably extensive for a pizza shop and my favorite thing is that they have white pizza!! And not just one variety but multiple options. While hubby loves their red sauce pizza, I love the alfredo white pizza. There is almost no where else you can go and each get a small pizza of your taste. Secondly, the hoagies are amazing!! The meat is ALWAYS fresh and the bun just right. In other words you don't feel like you are eating a whole loaf of bread like some of the other places we have had hoagies. Next there is the staff! They are so kind and friendly and treat you as though you are eating in a fine dining establishment. It never goes unnoticed how congenial the staff is not to mention the management! The management (Issac in particular) when in house goes out of their way to show appreciation for supporting their family owned business. Thank you Vocellis Wheeling!! You make every...
Read moreWe decided to get food from here later in the night after spending several hours at Oglebay Parks Festival of Lights. It was AMAZING!!! All 3 of my younger, picky kids ate multiple pieces of pizza and bread bites. They claimed it was the best pizza they ever had. Ages 4,7 and 8. Their dad and I both got out own Stromboli’s. They were big, stuffed with great toppings and delicious! We were all pleasantly surprised with how great everything was. My only complaint would be that they could definitely give a bigger side of sauce for the Stromboli’s. I thought the price was really good for what all we got. We spent under $60 and got a large pizza, bread bites 2 Stromboli's and 6 cannolis.
We decided to make this pizza shop part of our yearly Oglebay tradition and can’t wait to have it next...
