Usually, I love this place but today I had such an unpleasant experience. It was very disappointing. I took my mom for her birthday because it’s usually one of her favorite spots to go. When we got there, it was a little bit busy, but nothing crazy after 15 minutes of not even having a waiter bring us water. I went up to ask the bartender for some water and he tried to flag down a waiter to tell them that we had them and waited on yet, but still, nobody brought us water and then the waitress, whose name was Sheri, Came and took our orders. My mom was asking her for recommendations because she can’t make up her mind and the waitress was almost annoyed at her for even asking if something on the menu was any good. It’s one thing to get annoyed at a guest, but when you know it’s their birthday and are genuinely being that kind of rude to them is a little messed up. And on top of that, the food was so disappointing. Usually, I like whatever I order But the cheese ravioli was a new type of disgusting. I was expecting normal ravioli with cheese inside with a Rosa sauce like it described on the menu. What I got was not even edible. It was COVERED in actual globs of cheese. Pretty much no sauce. And that’s saying a lot because I am obsessed with cheese and it’s a serious problem when anything has too much cheese for me. I couldn’t even eat it. She brought rolls to the table and my mom and dad ate them right away and my dad had two not realizing there was only one for each of us so I asked for more rolls because I only got half of the one may dad started eating and she said she needed to charge us extra for a roll that I didn’t even get to eat. I barely had anything and the waitress was giving such cranky vibes I was scared to even let her know my entrée was gross. They at least brought my mom a cheese cake for her birthday but when it was time to pay we gave them the birthday coupon my mom got for $15 off and they told us we couldn’t use it because of what we ordered. We litterally had three entrees and soups and salads. WE LITERALLY WOULD HAVE GONE ELSEWHERE IF THEY WEREN'T GOING TO ACCEPT THE COUPON. My mom just didn’t want to waste the coupon. Overall it’s one thing to have a bad experience at a restaurant but for it to be on someone’s birthday when they know you’re celebrating is...
Read moreAttached to lobby and hotel swimming pool and rooms at this point doesn't help. We tried anyway on Valentines day and had the worst experience in Rudy's. I had made reservations a month ahead of time based on a couple previous rooftop lunches and other feedback from friends as far as food quality. We are dressed up. Just my fiancee and I. Sit on the same side of a booth. And wait. And wait. Our waitress finally came over and immediately wanted our drink order and wanted to know if we were ready to order our dinner. I explained we just got here and need a few minutes. We got out drinks ordered an appetizer that came out cold even though she said it was just there in the kitchen window. I'm offering other places to eat now for my fiancee because the waitress was failing. We had sat too long and felt rushed and then she didn't come back even though she had the table next to us also and my polite finger in the air was trying for her attention. After a while my honey decided let's get champagne and order. Give it another go right!? So we got our expensive bottle of bubbly but then the waitress never came back .... again. So we drank it and I said that's it and asked for the manager as now over an hour and a half has passed and all we had was cold mushrooms and expensive champagne. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed. Had better service at Blacksmiths or Mad Jack's , Vanelli's for sure no doubt about it. Manager said she would handle it. We paid for the bottle and that's it. And left. Waitress was a big issue here but it felt like management wasn't watching, cooks not telling foods ready or no runners, and worst part was table next to us was served on time by the same waitress that walked by our table 100 times without stopping. ... even with my finger up ...like hey , can you stop and see what we want? Probably not going back. Too many other good places to go...
Read moreDisappointing Easter brunch. I had been warned about this restaurant by several co-workers but wanted to try it anyway. Wish I had listened. Our party of 6 made reservations a month in advance. When we arrived we were handed a buzzer and told "There is a wait." I asked why we had to wait since we had reservations and our entire party showed up on time. The staff said "We are turning tables as fast as we can. You have to wait." Several other customers were very unhappy and the waiting area was chaos. We had a disabled person in our party and there was no place for them to sit. Seven (7) staff stood around the check in area and found it funny to listen to people complain about having to wait for up to an hour after making reservations far in advance. After 30 minutes when we were lead to our seats we passed by 10 open tables which could have been used to accommodate our party. Once we were seated we had a snippy waitress and had to wait 20 minutes for drinks - we were eating our food from the buffet before the drinks came. Many items ran out on the buffet. Two (2) people in our party cut into chicken which was pink in the middle. When we told wait staff we were told "Oh, well we are very busy." "Custom ordered' omelets were salty and the cheese was not even melted. Almost all items from the buffet were cold. Lots of staff were observed standing around while customers milled around blocking doorways and routes to tables. The waitress reminded us "Be sure to tip - it's Easter!" It may have been meant as a joke but we did not find it funny. We had hoped to contract with Rudy's Red Eye Grill for our wedding reception and a summer business event but definitely will not be doing so! Sunday's event was poorly managed and the food was not of a decent quality. Our family will be choosing...
