Called for a pickup order at this nearby place, trying to support my local businesses! The woman was kind enough but didn’t like that I had questions.

Not to worry, I thought. It’s a bar and grill. What should I expect? I decide to order the buffalo chicken sandwich, (I have with fries, and an extra side of ranch.

I get there and nobody says hello, a woman finally looks up from her computer and asks if I’m there for the pickup. I get my order and pay, to return home before my break is over. Upon arriving home, I notice that my sandwich doesn’t have any buffalo sauce. The woman also asked me if I wanted LTO, and I said no onion (I have an allergy) but the rest sounded great if it was fresh. She assured me it was, alas, I have wilted and soggy garnish lettuce dripping all over the fries, and quarter of an onion draped across the basket.

The grilled chicken was especially dry on one half, and the other half was still a bit raw in the middle. On top of not getting the sandwich I ordered, it isn’t fully cooked!

I call the restaurant, because if it were only one or two of these issues it wouldn’t matter, but now my meal is inedible. A young woman puts me on hold for ten minutes to “check something” and then asks if I want to speak to a manager. She says they probably can’t do anything but puts me on hold for another 5 minutes to get a manager for me to speak to.

The manager was holding his finger over the microphone on the handset as if I were a problem customer yelling at him, so I couldn’t hear him very well, and after explaining this situation and looking for a resolution that didn’t involve getting a new sandwich, he took my info, told me his boss would call me in 5 minutes and hung up on me.

It’s been a couple hours, and no word. I won’t be going back, and I’d recommend you steer clear of the chicken or pickup orders in general from this...

Definitely check this place out! We've been here a couple of time, always in the winter for some reason, and have never been let down! The service from the hostess, to the servers, the bartenders and the manager Travis that checked in on us were all extremely friendly and accommodating as we had our 3 little ones with us. This bar/restaurant has a very cozy and warm feeling (I absolutely love being able to take my coat off and not freeze in a restaurant in Minnesota winters). There is an awesome wood burning fireplace that really adds to it's charm. If that's not enough there's a large selection of local artwork throughout each room. There's a huge outdoor patio for all your warmer weather dining needs and it is dog friendly! Rumor has it this summer they will be offering a doggy menu for possible "Yappy Hour"specials! Back to the food, it's amazing! The menu is the perfect size to offer a great variety without compromising quality and taste. We had the 100% Angus burgers that were cooked to perfection and served with perfectly seasoned fries. The buffalo wing appetizers were cooked to have a slightly crispy outside and juicy inside without being sloppy like other wing establishments. We didn't have the fajitas but saw and smelled multiple orders of them whiz by us and will definitely be back to try them. There are plenty of beers on tap and a full bar that will have anything you might have a taste for. I had a blood orange margarita and it was spot on! Coincidentally that happens to be the only picture I took...

First time at White Bear Lake and decided to have some breakfast here. Mainly because I preferred tequila instead of coffee and they were the only bar open at 8:30am. I did order tequila on the rocks, which is my go-to drink at any bar but this place mixed the tequila with water. which was an odd choice - I ended up barely drinking it. Anyways, I ordered the eggs benny, which is what I always order at new places. Its my way of judging how good they are 😂. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. The hollandaise sauce was good, but the eggs were well done and tasted like hard boiled eggs instead of a nice runny poached ones. The hash browns were extremely thin and because of that were oozing with oil 🥲. I asked for the Canadian bacon well done but it wasn’t, so I couldn’t eat it. I do realize this isn’t a Gordon Ramsey kitchen, its just a bar, but being in such a nice downtown area in a rich neighborhood near the lake - I had higher expectations for a Egg Benedict. Also, the service was what really sucked. Although the staff was nice, it took forever to get anything. I waited literally 20 minutes after I ate for someone to give me the bill, and I also had to wait 15 minutes for the eggs benny while the place was pretty empty, there was maybe 3 tables full. Def. would not recommend compared to the other places in town, I wish I had taken my business elsewhere.
