I want to love this place so bad, I really do. The patio area SHOULD be a killer place to just kick back and relax the day away.
I spent around 6 hours hanging out with drinks this past Sunday 6/5/16 and observed a complete lack of management. At $7-$9 a drink (a premium price point) there should be solid and consistent service. The waitresses (well most of them anyways, the morning shift was much better at being a waitress and the afternoon shift was much better at just chatting with customers) appeared to be doing what they could to keep up with the not very busy patio. Service time from when I ordered a drink to receiving it ran as high as 30 minutes!!! That's absurd. We ordered lunch and the food came out hot and was very delicious. We were still there around dinner time and another friend joined us around 5. Our friend waited almost half an hour before we could flag down a server from across the patio. She ordered naked pulled pork sandwich, but by the time the waitress finally brought the bbq sauces over the sandwich had gone cold, (from sandwich delivery to sauce delivery was 25 minutes, we were timing things at this point). We decided to order an appetizer as a dinner snack and go the loaded potato skins. They were refrigerator cold when they were delivered.
So why do I say it's a management problem vs inexperienced servers you ask? Well first off, the waitresses are busy trying to serve guests but have to constantly walk across the street to pick up the food for the patio. The guys working the boat rentals, instead of helping out with this they go for rides in their buddies ski boats or sit around with a drink in their hand on the patio. Next, every bar tender topped the bloody mary differently, no consistency. This place is basically being run by a bunch of teenagers that have no training and no standards. It's absurd that not once was there leadership present, it was basically the people goofing off all day. Anyone could just walk off on a bill here as the staff is so inattentive. These are all signs of weak or no management, and the amount of money they're not making because of the bad service is depressing.
I'll be giving it another shot for some live music, but as much as I was hoping to find a nice lakeside place to hang out on sunny days, this place...
Read moreWent to Tally's to celebrate my sisters birthday and I have to say I was very disappointed with everything but the location. the best part of the experience was sitting by the water. We ordered 2 Cubano Press, 2 grilled cheese press and 1 grilled cheese press with tomato and bacon. and a house salad. For drinks we ordered a Pina Colada, a sangria, 2 sprites and 2 diet cokes. our total with tip was $118 and some change. Needless to say no one in our party finished our meal. Our server brought our food over and made sure to use his fingers hands to open each sandwich to see what it was before placing it in front of the correct person. Each Grilled Cheese sandwich (NOT a Panini) was cold and the cheese was not melted. The cubano sandwiches(AGAIN NOT a Panini) looked like they were just tossed together on the plates before being served. The house salad had chunks of the lettuce core as well as brown lettuce mixed in with some "Fresh" lettuce. We requested Ranch dressing and got some sort of a dill sauce. I cant believe we were charged for this food. I was in the military and have eaten MRE's that tasted like gourmet dining compared to this "Food"???? Now for the drinks, the pina colada had little to no alcohol in it, the sangria was watered down. Both sprites were both flat and had more water than syrup and the diet cokes were barely above flat. I've had water from a creek that tasted more refreshing and better than this swill. It was great trying to walk up to the bar to order because the area next to the bar was so congested with intoxicated people I felt like I was going to have to physically push my way through the crowd, luckily everyone was super cool and we were able to get through with no problem. The entire deck needs to be repaired, replaced and re-stained. A few board felt like they would have gave way if a heavier person were to walk on them. I'm sad to say We will not be...
Read moreWe went to rent paddle boards today and it turned into a life or death situation. We rented the paddle boards went down to the dock two people went out on the lake. They then got ready to send the next two people in our group out on to the lake and realized they didn’t have any paddles left (something they definitely should have checked before sending anyone out). They grabbed an oar and were like ah good enough. I want to stress they did not fit us for life jackets, explain how to paddle board, things to look out for etc. like any normal place that rents these things would do. We get out on the lake and realized the waves were pretty bad so we didn’t go far. Soon enough we are struggling to paddle in especially the one stuck with the oar. We are all in our 20s in decent shape and have paddle boarded before. Soon enough it turned into a life or death situation as my friend flipped her board and it drifted away with her life jacket strapped on and we were all to far away to help luckily a boat stopped and saved us all. We got to dock exhausted as we had now been paddling for an hour against the current with no hope. The people on the boat stressed that they should have never sent us out there and that was a life or death situation. The kicker is we talked to the owner and they were like we will give you a discount on the one board that didn’t have a correct paddle (didn’t even give a full refund on that one). Honestly we were to exhausted to fight it. The real issue was the guy didn’t say sorry and was like “welp now you know not to go when there’s wind” no empathy. It’s clear that they just care about money and want you to get stranded so they can charge you for more time. This place is extremely unsafe do not come here if you are going with children, or older people, or even if you not a seasoned...
