The Applebee's location where we typically went closed so we gave this one a shot. Overall, I'm not a fan of the chain in general. However, the husband chose the restaurant so there I was. I decided (after much back and forth) on the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp with fried red potatoes, sautéed onions and mushrooms. The picture on the left is the menu photo. The picture on the right is the actual brought to the table. Close but no prize. The skillet was not sizzling when it arrived which should have tipped me off right there that I was about to be underwhelmed. The onions were warm at best, not sauteed and still crunchy. There were mushrooms, although I had to dig for the 4 I found. The potatoes were not cooked through and under seasoned. The chicken was good, but the garlic and thyme butter was just a cold mound on top of the shrimp. I had to tuck it under the chicken and find a warm spot for it to melt. Oh yeah, the shrimp.... blah. Overcooked, under seasoned and nowhere near "blackened". Overall the entire dish was under seasoned (compare the pictures - the menu picture, the one on the left is beautiful). Could I have complained and sent it back... yeah, if I wanted to wait another 20-25 minutes for them to redo it while my family ate and then have my family wait while I ate. Not ideal. Could I have sent it back and asked for it to go... thanks, but no thanks. Ah well, it is usually a few months before we lose our minds and think "hey, let's go to Applebee's for dinner" so maybe by the next time, the cooks will have a little more training to at least come close to what the...
Read moreExtremely disappointed at this location. My friend and I decided to stop in for lunch and it went far from how we expected. After being seated, we waited for over 20 minutes, watching other customers come in after us and be helped within less than 5 minutes of being seated. At first we brushed it off, thinking maybe they're short staffed. After the 20 minute mark we were a bit disappointed. I had got the attention of the hostess about no one taking our order, so she took it for us. She then passed the info along to who our waitress should have been, who had previously walked by multiple times, looked at our table/made eye contact, but never waited on us. After the hostess speaking with her, she walks by and loudly set down two plates and tossed down silverware without saying a word and walked by quickly. Then coming back with our drinks she quickly said her name was Stephanie and walked away again. At this point I asked to speak with a manager because it was disappointing at the poor service we were receiving. The manager came over and asked what was going on and asked if we needed anything and assured we'd be taken care of. The manager checked on us a handful of times and the waitress (Stephanie) did and was very short and very dismissive. We ended up ordering a couple things to go, with my order being incorrect. I appreciate the manager taking over for the most part but I truly feel that this was beyond sad at how the waitress acted. Even the tables around us that she had, did not experience the same treatment. I don't see us returning to...
Read moreWe typically never go to an Applebees, but we decided to try this one since my sister raves about her experiences. We get here around 4 and not alot of people plenty of open tables. The hostess sat us directly behind a table where 4 ppl were sitting so the chairs were pretty close, i asked to sit somewhere else because I have an autistic child who i know be moving around and i didn't want her to bump the person behind her, there are many open booths and chairs. She was very hesitant and told me she didn't have anywhere else to seat us. I told her we couldn’t sit there, she said again let me check. I ended up walking back to hostess booth where 3 other people were standing and i asked again where we could sit because that was not a good spot. One of those people said where to move us and she took us to another table,, again all open booths everywhere,, but since no one was sitting by us i agreed. With everyone walking by us it 20 minutes for someone to ask if we had been helped. Apparently we were sat somewhere that no one was assigned and someone failed to let a server know. Just a few minutes after we were sat, the booth right across from us had a couple sat in. We ordered wonton tacos and they came out so cold as if they came right out the fridge. Yuck. Sent them back and they came out warm but still not great. My dinner was pasta but it was super bland i couldn’t even eat it. The server was very apologetic and we knew it wasn't her fault. But the food was not great the experience even worse. We would definitely...
