Perkins American Food Co. — Restaurant in White Township

Perkins has delicious food where you can get anywhere from a nice variety of breakfasts to turkey & stuffing, burgers or fish. It's a wonderful variety that all restaurants don't have. Three of us were ready for dinner and we all ordered a breakfast meal. Once our meals were brought to us, everyone took a bite and was happy except Roger who ordered what was called a "Smasher" his was called Everything. It's a country style breakfast that has allot of veggies, ham, egg, cheese all on a cast iron handled platter with toast. We had waited awhile which is unusual, but we were hungry!! Roger took a bite of his potatoes, he said this is cold!! We were very surprised!! We called our waitress over told her she said not to worry, I'll take this back get it warmed up for you and talk to the manager. A few minutes later she brought his meal out and you could see the steam coming off of the top!! She then gave an apology and said the manager will not charge you for your meal that includes the toast as well. They really took that mis-hap very serious and made sure to make it right. The waitress was not very attentive, she didn't pay attention and spilt warm liquid (thankfully wasn't hot like it should have been) on my 15 month old, put my 15 month old's food down for her to eat easily in her reach which wouldn't have been a problem except it was so hot when I went to break the food up little I got burnt by it, that could have been my kid instead and would have hurt her worse. The taste of the chicken strips made my daughter refuse them for the first time ever which says a lot since she rarely refuses food at all and never refuses her favorite food (chicken strips). My food was barely the same amount of food as a kids meal and cost several dollars more the steak medallions where extremely chewy and difficult to chew up to eat, the green beans while they tasted good were easily the smallest serving I have ever as a side anywhere had looking more appropriate for a kids meal, and the speed at which our food was served was incredibly slow. I wouldn't dream of recommending this...

The food was great, but the service was AWFUL. The first thing our server said to us was that she was excited because this would be the first year she's old enough to get into bars for IUPatty, and that she just got her driver's license a week ago. She took our orders, brought our drinks and food, then vanished. Thirty minutes later, I was pretty irate. We needed coffee and tea refills, pancake syrup, napkins (which she had not provided), and steak sauce. I finally got up and looked for her. She was behind the wall, bent over on her elbows, facing the kitchen, LITERALLY twiddling her thumbs. When I asked for all of those things, she said, "Wait, wait, wait, I'll never remember all of that!" Maybe if she had done her job, rather than daydreaming about bars, she wouldn't have to remember all of that. I have been to Perkins many times, and I've never had...
