I had an appointment booked online. Called them and explained I needed it changed and the purpose for the change. Was assured that would be lovely and that it could be done. Also went over my budget and my dress situation. You would think notes would have been made. The girl who assisted me was mostly pleasant, hence the 2 instead of a 1 star. Found a dress I loved from things that my sister tagged, but never looked at the price on and not until I fell in love with it was I informed that it was more than double my budget. Consultant 101 is do not put the bride in something she cannot afford to buy or at the very least advise them it is over budget. After about 14 dresses tried on, I thought I had the one, but I really don't because "layaway" or not I do not want to spend that much on a dress. I could, but I cannot justify it. My girls were supposed to be able to look at and try on sample brides maid dresses which I had arranged. I was told while I was selecting dresses, someone could take them down to look at options and they could show me. Never happened. With the last 30 minutes of the appointment that I had carefully coordinated I asked if we could at the very least go look. I had to beg to let my girls try on 2 dresses in the world's fastest change scenario. One to rule out the color rust. And one that was a better color. We didn't want to keep them "late" but potentially would have bought 7 dresses. We made sure to exit by 7 pm and did not keep them late.
It really felt like no one relayed our goal for the appointment. Training is definitely needed for newer consultants so as not to leave brides devestated and walking away with no dress. If they tell you that something will occur don't be like me and speak up to ask if/when your girls will be taken to try or look.
I understand I initially booked just a bridal appointment, hence why I called. However, what I was assured was just smoke and mirrors. I had booked a return appointment for the girls, but on thinking further, we are just going to look elsewhere. I was too uncomfortable with everything that happened.
I am certain I could have found a dress I loved if the appointment would have been handled differently.
Telling a bride that "all you have to do is get it altered" over and over is also not the way to sell a dress when you do not offer alterations and you are putting her in dresses almost 3 times her budget. When one of the "alterations" suggested I know could not have been done. You can only let out so much fabric.
Maybe it was because I was a bride with a low budget, maybe it was lack of training, or maybe it was because my teenagers are my wedding party. We...
Read moreWe had come in to get a dress for our daughter's 1st Communion and the consultant was very stand-offish. She didn't help us as we would have liked, she was nice, but just stayed behind the counter doing envelopes. Did not help with the dresses, just put them in the room and that was all until it was time to purchase then she was gun ho in helping. Mentioned we could purchase the dress off the rack. So, we did. Later we were called, told the dress still had the ink tag still on as she accidentally forgot to take it off.
We brought it back to have it removed. Then what ensued was not very seemly of a business and makes one question why the ink tag was still left on, was it a mistake or done on purpose. My mother was told that the dress had been ordered and we would probably have it in next couple weeks. We had told the consultant when we bought the dress that we needed to purchase that day and if we were not able to purchase that day then we would need to walk out without buying. So, that is why she said we could purchase the gown off the rack. However, they do not do that with their dresses. As I spoke to the owner, I was told we were told this was situation and it was an oversight.
By working in the clothing and sales business, this is not an oversight. This is not even a mistake. Considering all sales are final with them, this is not a good practice and to me it seems the tag was left on so we would purchase regardless from them. I would highly not believe that the consultant was not told that gowns were not allowed sold off the rack. That is training 101 especially with such a small inventory such as theirs. It would not be hard to know what is sold off the rack and what is not and if flower girl dresses are not sold off the rack then the 8 dresses they have is not difficult to remember they cannot be. I give a 1 star as they are refunding us for the dress. I know this place is convenient, but with the service or there lack of, and the deceiving practices, I would...
Read moreThe whole visit went well until we were approaching the end. Our Bride wasn’t sure what she wanted, so she wanted to try on all the styles. Once we had an idea of what she liked, we then went to look for ones in her size to get an idea of how she liked each style of the dresses she did like. She tried on maybe 15 dresses total, the employees were putting dresses away throughout the visit. While doing so with ones we absolutely decided against was ok, but the ones we liked parts of, should’ve remained on a rack near by, because as we went out for our more specific trip, we couldn’t remember if any of the dresses we were looking at had already been tried. Once we narrowed it down to 3, the bride wanted to try the first two back on and get a better feel. Once she was done, she asked if she could do a final lap and make sure nothing else pops at her, and the employee essentially told her no and said it was pointless. At this point we were stunned at the sudden change in demeanor and our bride was really upset by it. That being said, we won’t be returning, or...
