Weve been to this place probably 20 times the pizza is always fantastic. A few visits ago I asked for fried cauliflower and got fried mushrooms by mistake, no big deal but being pregnant I really just dont like mushrooms. We called and they said they would give them to us next time we came, and they did. We decided to order again today and wanted a salad, again being pregnant I dont really like onions or tomatoes lately so I was fine with just lettuce and whatever else came with it. When I opened the container there was about 30 pickles in it and banana peppers, which was ofd but whatever thats what it came with ill just pick it out. While I was picking my plenty of pickles out I noticed the lettuce was thin and floppy and kinda rubbery… the salad was basically inedible. It was 10 dollars so I figured we can just call and get our money back since we eat there often, itll go right back to them anyway. The woman on the food was so nasty, it was like she grew the lettuce herself and was offended to hear a simple mistake was made. She insisted that was have “already complained” about our food in the past (we literally just wanted what we ordered) and proceeded to hang up on us. Luckily there are plenty other pizza places around but I dont like how they made multiple mistakes and blamed US….? The girl behind the counter needs an attitude check because there is no reason she should be making a business she works for look as bad as she feels...
Read moreI wanted to buy the Saturday paper close to where I was driving, so I stopped by the Whitehall Mini Mart. Before paying for the Morning Call, I asked the cashier if any sandwiches were available. He said they didn't sell this item but said I could get food next door (at Palace Pizza). I was never there but it was a few steps away, so.... The space was a bit cramped for me. There were many conversations going on in a limited area but I didn't go there for social reasons; just went to try and find something to eat. The girl behind the counter was very customer-centered and accommodating. I ordered two slices of mushroom pizza, which came loaded down with mushrooms!!! I made the order to go and made my way out the door. The pizza was phenomenal !!!! The crust had a crunch to it; very tasty! As I usually do with two slices I put one on top of the other (sauce on the inside) and ate my pizza sandwich. The price was a bit high for a single slice; however, the quality of that mouthwatering pizza was exceptional. Not a crowd person; the ambiance would be enjoyable for many but not so much for me. However, the pizza there is very enjoyable so I'm sure all other foods served at Palace PB come out on the top...
Read moreUpdate: Pizza is ok but pricing still on the higher side. Spent about $70 for 2 Calzones, a stuffed pierogi, garlic knots and two individual specialty slices. The calzones were both very small with a tiny sauce cup. Both were a bit soggy on the side. Seems expensive compared to other Italian restaurants in the area for what you get these days.
By comparison we've walked out of a nearby competitor for roughly the same cost with Calzones 3x the size (only twice the cost), bigger stuffed pies ($10 less but bigger and thicker), breaded mushrooms etc and big enough sauce containers that, despite the massive calzones, we still had extra left.
Really miss how it was years ago. I used to order and pickup at least once a week if not multiple times per week from Palace. Great staff, nice people working there but we likely won't be back unless, like the other night, they were the only place open we were familiar with. The quality and value just isn't...
