Update: went back today since we know the bartender. There was no one to make food so we had a drink and left. Our friend, the bartender, did provide some free candy, chips and pickles trying to keep the patrons there. I overheard they were running out of beer.
The whole bar needs a major update. The chairs, tables and stools are old and uncomfortable. There is no foot step on the edge of the bar to put your feet. They have outdoor seating with cheap tables and chairs. The sign out front is a piece of plywood with hand painted letters.
The bartenders are friendly and attentive.
Ordered the pizza bun and it had a strange taste and wasn't cooked all the way through. They reheated it and it still tasted bad. I didn't eat it. Also, the chips were half crumbs. Don't do that. Throw the crumbs away and serve large chips to the customers.
I then ordered a burger. Little tiny, over cooked burger came out with barely any mayo on it and one leaf of lettuce and a thin tomato. The burger did not taste good and the bun was dry.
I think the issue may be that they use local meats from a local meat processor which tastes much different than stuff from the store. We have bought from this meat processor we haven't been overly impressed with the taste. Suggest, they go with meat from another source.
Wife ordered a chicken salad which was good. Someone at the bar said their steak hogies are good but they didn't like their burgers either.
I know everyone is trying to cut costs, but don't go cheap on the ingredients. Buy the best you can get and make food taste...
Read moreThe Sunnyvale we visited and its food bore little to no resemblance to their Facebook page and the WBOY article published around time of launch. We received no table service and had to seek someone out at the bar to place an order. The "loaded" nacho platter had no salsa or sour cream options, and taco meat was barely discernible. It was served with no side plates, which made for a very messy eating experience. Our burgers may have been okay but after one arrived with two dark curly hairs on the burger and chips, we lost our appetites. - We did not receive any condiments--no ketchup or mustard for the burgers, and not even salt and pepper. Surprisingly, around 6-7pm on a Friday night, we were the only ones there to eat (in ripped vinyl booths); all other patrons were gathered standing around the bar, so loud we could barely hear each other. My partner and I swear freely and unapologetically and enthusiastically and often, but this crowd outdid us by far in terms of F-words per minute.
Heavy on the bar, light on the grill. Very...
