I decided to check them out with my mom and it started out well enough. The restaurant is clean and the decor is pleasant. The server was very friendly at first. I ordered the breakfast special (an egg and sausage sandwich on their homemade everything bread) and a side order of bacon. My mom ordered an egg over easy with toast and bacon. Unfortunately, the friendly service we experienced when we first entered quickly went away after we ordered our food. We placed our order around 10:05. We didn't get it until 10:57. During the time we waited, the server walked by multiple times and occasionally glared in our general direction. The table behind us, who came in about ten minutes after us received their food before us and left before us. Not even ten minutes after our food was delivered, the server came by with the slip and passive aggressively rushed me to pay, while I was still eating so I didn't have a chance to say anything before she left. When I did go to pay, the person at the register said nothing. Nothing at all. Their homemade everything bread was very good and the overall quality of the food was excellent and part of me would like to come back but the level of disrespect I received from the staff is very...
Read moreWe went to the homestead on Saturday. We get there and its only breakfast ok that's fine. Get in there order food. 1 hour goes by and they have not even started making our food. It was not too busy. We got up and left. That is ridiculous. There was tables that came in after us that received there food. Not to mention it was so over priced. A cup of coffee $2.50. That we didn't even get asked for a refill. We had to ask. Not pleased at all. Probably won't be back to try the food .
Update to there replie: before we left. We asked our waitress to go check on our food. She did she went back and asked. She then came back to us and told us that they have not even got to our food yet. This was just shy of a hour of sitting there. When we got ready to leave we asked what we owed for the pop and coffee. She was like don't worry about it. Telling us we didn't paid we asked your wonderful employee told us not to worry about and also told us they have not got to starting our food. I will never step food in this place. I'm not here to sugar coat my exprexperience here. Not even one time we got checked on and updated on our food...
Read moreMy wife and I are retired and on a fixed income but take great pleasure in supporting local businesses. We ate there last weekend, the Homestead's second week of operation and had an absolutely delightful experience! The food was exceptional! The Stuffed Hashbrowns are truly amazing and quite ample - a definite hit! Our server was very cordial, attentive and sweet, and the restaurant was about 3/4 full of patrons. The wait for our food was about 15 minutes which seems to be pretty normal for a sit down restaurant. We noticed that some people commented negatively about the wait time and that prices was excessive. Demonstrating a little patience for a new restaurant trying to make it in a small community should be a given. It does take a bit of time to acclimate and train a new team. As for costs..... it costs more to eat out today than it did a year or so ago, have you noticed the gas and grocery prices? We are grateful that there are still young people willing to risk everything to start a new business to support our little community. Come on folks lets...
