I went here for the first time this afternoon. Absolutely loved it. First, I'll start with the atmosphere. its a dimly lit room with very nice tables. It has some really nice decorative photos on the walls. Most of them being old photographs from things in Italy. They play really relaxing instrumental music. Not too loud so you can still have conversations. There's a TV that has various interesting photos. Now let me talk about the menu, service, and food. My waitress was very polite and kind. She gave us more time when we needed to order. She brought our drinks almost immediately after ordering them. Every time my drink was empty she would refill it without even asking. The menu has so many options from pastas to hoagies to steaks. I got the Italian hoagie. It was very delicious and great sized for the price. I got a side of fries and they were delicious. They had just the right amount of crispness and perfect amount of salt. The bathrooms and restaurant are also clean so that is always a plus of course. 5/5: I would really recommend this place if you're looking for a nice and relaxed restaurant with really good food. If you're in the area, you definitely go here!

This was the 2nd time checking this place out for dinner. Fortunately we arrived early before the crowd. I had fettuccine alfredo with Italian Sausage and my wife had the Prime Rib Special with Asparagus and a Baked Potato. We enjoyed the Calamari Fritti and Burrata Salad with arugula, prosciutto, roasted peppers, capers, olives and balsamic & pesto dressing. For dessert we had tiramisu and lemoncello cake. Tiramisu was great. Lemoncello not so much. Service was great as we watched Tiger at the Masters and the Phils win their season opener. A little pricey. But it turned out to be a great Friday night dinner after a long exhausting week.

My partner and I love Scoogis. I really debated about sharing this place because honestly, gatekeeping is tempting… but hey, 2025 is my year of sharing the love. Anywho our mission is to literally conquer the entire menu until we find something we don’t like. Spoiler: after five visits, we’re still waiting for disappointment to show up. (It hasn’t.) The vibe is cozy and I didn’t feel out of place wearing my winter combat boats. The people are always so nice! Trust me, once you visit, you’ll be plotting your next trip back before the check even hits the table. 🙈 parking sucks! Sorry!!

One of the worst Italian meals I have had in a long time!

I ordered the Shrimp with the Penne alla Vodka Sauce. Because I am on weight watchers, I wanted the sauce on the side which is something I do often in Italian restaurants. For whatever reason, the restaurant put the Shrimp in the vodka sauce instead of on the pasta. I did not complain, but obviously this was not how I had ordered it. The Shrimp were a tad bit small and only 5 of them were served-- this dish was $22.95 and not worth it with the size of the shrimp. The vodka sauce was marginal and needed work.

Normally, I would give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt since we went there on Labor Day evening (a holiday), but the server was poor as well. I grew up waiting tables so I am always willing to take a lot from a server, but Ryan's overall attitude was poor. One of my dining partners asked him if they had any homemade pizzelles that evening and he said he didn't think so-- we then saw the hostess who my dining partner knows from going into the restaurant and asked her the same question. When the server came back to take the dessert order, he said to my dining partner, "Didn't you believe me when I told you we didn't have them?"

In trying to pay the bill, the service to take the money and get change took a long time and again the attitude from both the server and hostess left a lot to be desired. Overall, my other opinions are as follows: not the cleanest place the bread was stale service and attitudes were poor

I live and eat mostly in Chester County and assure you if this restaurant was in Chester County, it would not be in business very long with the food and attitude...

I can’t tell you how disappointed I am to share these thoughts. As long time customers, since the day the doors opened many years ago, our whole extended family has enjoyed wonderful dinners at scoogi’s. We’ve had large family gatherings, birthday celebrations and many dinners with friends. The food is very good and I have no complaints about the service. We now have little grandkids in the family and eating out has been a little harder for us so we’ve been doing take out more often. This is where all of the disappointment lies. The pick up area is fine, but there is always a nasty attitude if we ask for bread with our dinners. Our orders are usually a minimum of 6 entrees plus salads, and IF bread is included in the order, it’s usually a few slices, not enough for everyone. I say IF, because many times it has not been included at all. When we ask, it’s always a problem. Really Scoogi’s? You’re willing to alienate customers over bread? I wouldn’t have bothered to write this, but it has happened EVERY SINGLE TIME we take out. In contrast, we got take out recently from Sorrento’s with a similar sized order. We also ordered their garlic bread off of their menu. Not only did we get the garlic bread we ordered, Sorrento’s included TWO entire LOAVES of bread with our order! We didn’t even ask. I just don’t understand a restaurant that is willing to lose customers over something as...

I don’t often write reviews, but when someone pours this much heart into their craft, it deserves to be recognized.

We recently had a family gathering catered by Scoogi’s Italian Kitchen & Bar, and all I can say is… out of this world. Owner Rob Rosato has been a friend for years, and you can taste the love, care, and artistry he puts into every single dish.

I told him to surprise us and gave him complete culinary freedom — and he absolutely hit it out of the park. From the classics to the vegetarian options (a huge win for my cousin visiting from Arizona), everything was perfection:

🍗 Chicken Marsala 🍝 Chicken Parm 🍆 Eggplant Parm (vegetarian) 🥦 Fresh Mixed Vegetables 🦞 Lobster Ravioli (vegetarian) 🍅 Tomato Mozzarella Salad (vegetarian) 🥗 Caesar Salad (vegetarian) 🍰 An incredible spread of pastries + his homemade cannoli that I’m still dreaming about

Every bite was flavorful, fresh, and made with passion. Rob went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt included and taken care of — from the vegetarians in the family to the dessert lovers.

If you’re looking for authentic Italian food in Flourtown that’s made with love and served with pride, look no further than Scoogi’s. Whether you dine in or let Rob cater your special event, you’re in for an unforgettable experience.

Grazie, Rob — you made our family feel so special. You're a great guy and a...
