Chicken Box — Restaurant in Wichita Falls

Food looked good. Seen the line of people of 10 at a time go thru 3 times and them people leave before I finally got up and asked if our order had got lost. Guy told me, u had different stuff like fish that takes longer to cook.. i said the line has come and gone 3 times I'd say 35 mins. I guess wife or girlfriend was the other front of the house person and she told him he handed out our food to someone else. So, he basically just bullshited me and lied. Well, all they could do is refund my mother's money cause she used her card and confirm that we just sat there for 30 mins before going to the hospital where my father was for almost going into a diabetic coma with our belly's still empty... I'd say with some staff that owns up to their own mistakes and proudly refunds money and make sure u get to eat before you leave it would be a great little dive. This is going to be a biased review. My family has enjoyed the Chicken Box for over 40 years. When I heard the original location was no longer in business I was crushed. However, to see that there is a newer location brought joy to my heart.

The taste was just as I remembered. Fried chicken, gizzards, wings...it's all still available. I want a shirt next time! The service was personal. They take pride in knowing you and are not afraid to start a conversation with you. The food was fresh and prepared well with the spices I was familiar with. There was ample space inside to sit down and everyone was happy.

I’m so glad we stumbled onto the Chicken Box as we traveled through Wichita Falls. This is an individually owned fried chicken shack that serves tenders as well as white and dark meat on the bone. There are livers and gizzards for all of the people who like those. This was the crispiest, juiciest chicken I’ve had since my grandma’s home cooking years ago. Served hot and fresh. The little lady running the place is so friendly and accommodating, you feel like you’ve been welcomed into her home. The menu also has a variety of her traditional Korean dishes that I’m trying the next time I’m there. I’m several hundred miles from that place and I’d route my trip to take me through Wichita Falls just to eat at Chicken Box. Great food, huge portions. If you like fried Chicken, go!
