Update Review after 12-30-2024 visit: Want to update my previously glowing review after our latest visit. We are locals and have been frequenting Wellborn 2R for the last couple of months. Our visit on 12-30-2024 was subpar bordering poor. Let's get into the play by play of this visit. We were seated in the very back of the restaurant in the row of booths next to the Priddy Room. End booth was insanely cold, so we asked if we could move to the next booth. The four sets of silver ware on this new table were moved by us to the end of the table, server never moved them. Server (Abraham) seemed a little scatter brained through our entire experience. I ordered a Delta Apple (Will is a great Mixologist...and makes great drinks...if anything HE will be the reason we return). I ordered a second drink. Never got it, nor was I charged for it. My water was never refilled, but the server brought my husband three glasses of tea without asking. Funny how servers always cater to men.

I ordered the pork chop, which I have had before and it was previously wonderful. Had to wait for server to return to get a steak knife. Again, I feel like we were lost. This visit, was charred excessively...as in burnt. Was stuffed into the grits so you could not see it was burnt until I got to that side. We showed the server when he finally reappeared and showed him the charred remains of the pork chop. He said "he would let them know". Then he brings us our check. I pay a 64 dollar tab with a 100.00 bill. I am then greeted with the "we don't have change for this". Are you kidding me? I am forced to used my debit card. On the way out I stopped at the hostess station and asked who was the manager tonight. One of the two individuals identified as the Manager. We spoke briefly about our experience and the multiple fumbles during our meal. He said he was only made aware of the issue with not having enough change, but nothing was mentioned about my food. He asked for our name and number and said that he would speak to his boss about this and see what he could do. As of today, not a word. I have been a cheerleader for this place since we first tried it and previously given a glowing recommendation (see below). So I will say, it can be a hit or miss situation at this point at this place.

Exceptional food and service. The Filet was the best I've ever had and certainly the best you can get in Wichita Falls. Jennifer was a great server. Be sure to try one of their fabulous cocktails (Will is a master mixologost!!). I had the Delta Apple... so good,...

Let me start off by saying I was severely upset leaving this restaurant and I’m usually a pretty understanding person bit this restaurant completely surpassed any level of understanding I had left with me .First off we had a reservation for 4 and after standing in the lobby for about 10 minutes they finally seat us at the table that’s completely in the back next to the exit sign and where they put the dirty dishes .ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND RUDE! seeing as how we passed 5 completely open tables and booths we made an issue because apparently the hostess which was the pretty skinny Asian girl with the bang and glasses didn’t enough common sense to realize that wasn’t ok the manager moves us to be a better table and then proceeds to order us to complimentary appetizers without even asking which ones just submitted the order dinner drags on and it gets worse and worse the hostess never comes to apologize she just goes on about her night walking past our table cracking jokes like we don’t see her then she is seen with the waiter Jacob who then try’s to be sarcastic and walks over and literally states “what happened “ “why did yall move tables “ like excuse me that’s very unprofessional smh food was ok.twice baked potato was the best and the cocktails were decent as the experience was coming to an end I then see the hostess get my dessert from the kitchen and once she realized it was for me she handed the dessert to Jacob halfway to the table and then he walked it to the rest of the way to me because she didn’t wanna approach us smh not to mention I was celebrating my birthday a little early with my fiancé, his mother and grandmother and it was completely ruined by the is joke of a rumored upscale restaurant I will never step foot on this property and you can bet your last dollar I will be having a conversation with the Marriott about this and I have almost 3 thousand followers on social media and the will definitely be hearing about this...

Had better quality steak at the Texas Roadhouse or McBride's steakhouse few miles down the road. I violated my cardinal rule of not dining at restaurants which are inside or closely associated with a hotel and proved myself one more time that it is a bad choice.

My wife ordered a Mojito and myself an smoked old fashioned from the bar. And I quote the server who brought them to our table "I swear This thing was full of smoke when I left the bar (about 25 yards away by the way and the glass was capped with a wooden top) I don't know how it disappeared" The thing he did not mention, our drinks took longer than 15 minutes after ordering them to arrive and probably he made a few pitsops on other tables as we were seated to the far end of the restaurant. My wife's mojito was something I could do better at home. Both drinks were tasteless garbage.

When you order a Caesar salad, you expect something tossed in a bowl before being served. Right? Not at this establishment. All you get is 4-5 leaves of romaine lettuce with Caesar style dressing (which tastes like it came out of a cheap bottle from the grocery store) and two cherry tomatoes sliced in half on top. Who puts tomatoes in Caesar salad? Oh do you think I forgot the croutons and Parmesan cheese? Nooo.. They did. And when I asked for them, I got a piece of grill melted and crisped goop and a piece of stale Ciabata bread strip, which obviously have seen better days.

My wife's filletmignon tasted worse than the piece I once got from Walmart by mistake and my ribeye has so many pieces of gristle, I felt I spat out half the pieces I put in my mouth.

I chose this place to celebrate my wife's birthday and I need to make up for this bad experience we had someway, somehow, after paying close to $200 bill. Needless to say, this was my first and the last visit to this...

Having not been back to Wichita Falls, TX for nearly 6-7 years Delta Hotel by Marriott really surprised me by having not only an amazing staff but a well run, priced and designed Steakhouse within its walls. Highly recommend this Steakhouse probably the best in Wichita if your wanting to treat friends family or yourself out. From the entrance you already taken in by the classy yet eye catching ambiance. Whether you wanna sit at the bar, lounge chairs, seated tables or up close to the the wood burning grill watching your prime cut meat being grilled they got it! KUDOS to my waitress JALONA, SELENA and JENNIFER for the amazing service, laughs and great recommendation (Pork chop dish) and really making me feel welcomed. EXCELLENT dishes by Sous Chef Darshon Haines Team (WYATT, D and the young lady in the back (didn't get her name) ) The food was A+ quality and really was given attention to detail. Presentation and flavors were 5-star and nicely portioned. Another must are the cocktails. They have a wide arrangement of house made cocktails or whatever your heart desires! With everything said, Wellborn Steakhouse is a gem not only in Wichita Falls but out of all the competitors in the area. Best yet they not only locally sourced their meats and other produce but the price is very very reasonable. So next time you're staying overnight or visiting And in the mood for a special steakhouse dinner, you know where to go!

Food does not match the price. Several family members and myself shared the 50oz Tomahawk steak and it was not very good. The steak was undercooked- asked for medium and got medium rare. We did not take it back as we made it work with some eating the outer edges who like it medium and some of us eating it medium rare in the center. The steak was so tough and I bet 15oz of the steak was pure fat. There was also a ton of rosemary seasoning and it was just overpowering. The sides are not very good either. Twice baked potato really didn’t have flavor or hardly any cheese, the mac and cheese tasted like it had mustard in it-it was bitter tasting, and the chips weren’t very crispy. The skillet cookie was delicious though-had to be the best! None of us were really impressed with the food. However, the three stars comes from the atmosphere and service. It was so quaint and quiet, really enjoyed hearing everyone at the table without loud music or tables too close. The server was great, constantly came by and refilled our drinks. The bar also made a killer amaretto sour- one of the best I’ve ever had. Don’t think I will be returning anytime soon, especially for the fine dining price tag.
