My husband and I stopped here over the weekend. I was a bit worried when I seen the sad fish tank that only had fish with no decor but I thought let's try it anyways. The hostess was very kind and immediately asked about the bandage on my forehead. We were seated quickly and our waitress was very quick to bring our drinks. When I enjoy a buffet, I prefer to have small portions of a little bit of everything and I don't like my food to mix. I don't overfill my plate. I choose lo mein, mushrooms, coconut shrimp, and crab delight. Everything was hot and fresh. My second plate was black pepper chicken, honey chicken, more mushrooms, crab ragoon, steamed dumpling, and rice noodles. The crab ragoon needs more crab but it was fresh. I had a little issue with the dumpling and I pointed it out to the waitress. Immediately the hotess or manager came over and apologized for the inconvenience. And she addressed the situation quickly. All this time I'm watching our waitress. She was fast at clearing, cleaning, and serving her customers. I went back for one more plate but this time it was a generous portion of the Absolutely Delicious Mushrooms!! The jalapeño that had been added were just the Perfect kick!! The interior was clean but could definitely use a refresh and maybe a little more light at each booth. The booth itself was loose so when anyone sat behind me and moved so did I, that was a little annoying. I'm giving Buffet City 5 stars because the food was fresh and delicious and the staff was friendly, kind, and fast. The price is comparable to other Chinese buffets, about 20$ per person with a buffet and soda beverage. We will...
Read moreI’ve been going here for along time over 15 years no lie and they have gotten very money hungry it’s sad i still went back even after she made me pay extra for staying during dinner hours even though my ticket was priced for lunch I didn’t even eat during dinner even if I did I was their for lunch!!! Then I gave them another try. I took all my babies there with me like I always do now I know they once told me that kids under the age of three or four eat for free all of a sudden it’s changed to kids over the age of two cost and I know for a fact that wasn’t the age like I said I’ve been going there for years and its pure greed I don’t tip anymore I go to different buffets if I can, there’s not really that much of a big selection in Wichita for a Chinese buffet but they are very greedy for money and they don’t care and I’m sad because I love going there well loved going there!!!!! Not to mention they don’t even refill my drinks at all I have to ask and I don’t like that !!! I don’t like being treated unfair but I meant to make this review whole ago I won’t be going back anymore at all and it’s sad to say because I had been going here since I was in middle school with my friends they have changed completely do they care about this review probably not !!! Rude waitresses who pick and choose who they cater to not knowing that I have a pocket full of money to tip smh ridiculous people they’ll be alright just treat people right and stop being so hard...
Read moreFrom 2005 until 2014 my Papa & I ate @ Buffet City 2 or more times each week. They had excellent food and was a great family owned business. The owners daughter, Tiffany, was only about 2 & would come 2 our table & ask for our drink order in a little apron & order pad with pencil in hand & scribble on the pad like she was a waitress. We watched her & her little brother growing up, knew the owners parents, cousins, nieces & nephews who also worked side by side as the business & family grew. Since my Papa's passing, I still go back there for the best food & atmosphere around. And in 2022, after all these years, they still call me by name, seat my special, & we share memories of the children's lives, Papa's favorite foods, when Tiffany started Chinese school at 5 and more. These are decent, family oriented people, with strong family, community, and work ethics that would shine as an example of everything the American Dream, Entrepreneur Businesses, Customer Service ideals are theoretically but actually living out day to day in all areas of business, family, and the good life! And admiration for the humans that they are just makes the already delicious food taste even better to me! KatyBeth Botkin Freidline & her late Papa...
