Jalen was very professional as soon as we walked in the door! 5 stars to him alone! The other staff that was working the door was very courteous to the other guests to get them through to have a great time! Play zone was pretty cool for the boys. They were pretty excited once they came back from playing! I liked how the concession area was wide open and not cramped for parents and other spectators that weren’t skating to be able to watch or enjoy their food. The skate floor was crowded so I didn’t end up skating but my son did and he enjoyed it and got several compliments on how good he is for being such a young skater! Definitely had the old school skating vibe with the Starburst lights and the carousel horses on the walls. Game area was clean and looked fun even though I didn’t play but my kids did! I really loved the spectator area along the outside of the skate floor so I could watch my son skate and speed skate. Overall the staff on duty had the strive for family entertainment experience on point! Very impressed! Thank you Journey & Austin for having us while we were in town for the speed meet, we will definitely be back next time we come out from Joplin! For anyone that loves going to Carousel if you are ever in the Joplin Mo area check out Roller City Entertainment we are the sister Rink to Carousel and we want to strive to give you the same wonderful family experience that we had tonight! And again we will definitely be back when we come out to Wichita again!
Thanks! Dustin R. W/Roller City Entertainment...
Read moreWhile many use it as date night, this past Saturday night at the skating rink could have been better labeled- roller dating,...like speed dating, but better. Bear with me. I'm waiting for the perfect time to step on the floor. Ya know, I've done the whole skating thing before, but anyway. The opening to the floor seemed so wide once I got right on the edge. While being just far enough off the ground to remind me, I'm...clumsy. So un-styled. So naïve, to the way the wheels could wreck me. Scared to trip and fall, but resigned to it being part of the program. It's a solo thing, (sure it might be a fun group thing) but on the floor, in the rink, once you really hit the ground skating, you realize you're all you have. Just you, eight wheels, and that unforgiving, smooth cold floor. Saturday night took me back to 6th grade, my own "Fantasy" rolling on a note by Mariah. I got to bring out my vintage jeans, listen to some of my favorite old school hits, mixed with the ones that always keep a party "lit." It had everything rolled in one, music, drinks, and couples/singles. Thank you for the trip down memory lane, and the addition to Wichita's adult entertainment! A night to relive all the times I wanted to be asked to "couples skate," (happened btw) and the highlight, exchanging numbers on a napkin! Nostalgia at it's finest. Highly...
Read moreI grew up skating here and have a blast skating still at 50 yrs old. I also take my daughter as much as possible. I loved how it went to more of a family friendly environment and they dont put up with a bunch of riff raff. I dont like how they are hiring people that don't even know how to skate. What?? This was unheard of back then. Everyone was wearing skates and interacting with kids and people there skating. Customer service has gone down hill and if they don't improve in this area people will stop coming. Also what are they doing to their floors and walls. It feels so cold in there and no style. It used to have the nice blue carpet on the wall that made you feel safe when skating around it. Now it's just white paint. The floor doesn't seem to be finished which makes it harder to skate on. They need to bring back the little carousel for the Lil ones. That was always part of this place....and the tall and fat and skinny magic funny mirrors. Now there is nothing great or special to remember about this place....
