Gorditas Durango — Restaurant in Wichita

Great selection of fillings for gorditas. Tried the raja, barbacoa, and chili verde. The texture of the corn gorditas was more chewy than I am used to from other similar places. The barbacoa is of a shredded beef variety and neither of us really enjoyed the taste. The chili verde was shredded pork, and it was tasty. I guess neither of us really like shredded meats in our gorditas. The rajas con queso tasted great and was loaded with peppers, but again the gordita didn’t have a good texture so I just ate the filling out of it. We did, however absolutely love the carne fries. It didn’t look anything like the picture they have on their wall... it had very little toppings ... but they were very yummy. Speed was slow, but that’s only because they were slammed... so I think perhaps we just ordered the wrong things as they seem well liked. They were very friendly. ...

I'm so glad I stopped here and you will be too! I went during lunch hours it was pretty crowded and I had no idea where or how to place an order so I picked up a menu from a table and right away I was bieng helped. I did notice customers formed a line and would order at the counter and wait for their numbers to be called. I ordered chicharon gorditas, rajas con queso ( chile slices and cheese) and it was everything except for the onions I did not know onions are included so ask for non if you also dont like them, the gorditas were stuffed and worth the price. First time trying the place, and it was excellent! I got the carne asada gordita (corn and fried per their recommendation, SO GOOD), elote, and horchata. They were so kind and took the time to explain all the different options and even put in an extra item for me to try, but I can't remember the name!
