Juarez Bakery — Restaurant in Wichita

If you need somebody to explain why Juarez Bakery is good, then it is not the place for you. Who doesn’t like cake, cookies, or fresh bread? Even if you don’t, delivering these pastries to a pal is often a win : )

When you go in, don’t be bashful about grabbing a tray and tongs and loading up on the delicious sweet treats found in abundance on the shelves facing Waco. Slices of cake, crumbly cookies, sugared donuts and a variety of pastries are readily available. So many are easily enjoyed with a glass of milk or strong coffee. Each will be carefully packaged for the ride home (if they make it that far) while being rung up.

Customized cakes are also available. I don’t know that I will ever be able to forget a hauntingly decadent tres leches con café birthday cake for my wife that continues to pop up in my dreams from time to time. I would expect that should you choose Juarez for your next special event, you would experience the same joy. Every time we have ordered cake, it has been a great experience.

Each cake is skillfully decorated for its special occasion. It is a simple joy in and of itself, perusing the cakes that are waiting patiently to be picked up each time that I stop by to load up on pastries and cookies for the family. Retirement and anniversary celebrations made better with vibrant and skillful lettering, birthday parties carefully accented with airbrushed cartoon figures.

Juarez also has a surprising selection of snacks, drinks, spices and cooking ingredients available in store as well. If you have made it this far in life without visiting, don’t hesitate to make this...

STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!! This place is NOT just for Mexicans, it's for everyone. I never write reviews but .... The lady who helped us was so nice!!! I felt a little self conscious going inside at first because I'm white and only speak English. The lady who helped us spoke English and I didn't feel out of place at all! She answered all my questions happily. To top it off, my husband is from Belgium; he's been searching for a place to find good croissants.... Needless to say, that search is OVER! He's so hard to please but somehow this place did it. As soon as you walk inside the smell of fresh bread hits your nostrils! And the prices, I was shocked! My husband could buy enough pastries for everyone on his team at work for less than $15! Not to bash but you can buy at least four pastries for the price of one at Panera and the taste doesn't compare either! We purchased several different breads and some avocados (best I've ever eaten). I went to this bakery to purchase "goodies" for my Uncle's 100th Birthday Celebration in Wellington, at my Cousin's recommendation.

She was spot on with her enthusiastic recommendation. Although most of what was in this bakery was a bit 'foreign' to me, it ALL looked so delicious.

The place was remarkably clean, well organized and the 'goods' were displayed in a most appealing manner. If I wasn't there from Phoenix, I would have probably at least bought some of the fresh made tortilla's to bring back to Arizona with me.
