First off, I love Asian food. Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, filipino, japanese, doesn't matter its all flavorful foods when done right. I have eaten at a large majority of the Asian restaurants in Wichita because of that. Some places are excellent, Bann Thai, My Tho, Chiang Mai, Pho lee's and LITTLE SAIGON just to name a few are all great options. Tonight my wife wanted cashew chicken and noodles. Bei wei was what we wanted but it was closed on Mondays, so we tried Little Saigon. We have always loved both of these. We decided we would try Saigon since it was right next door. We assumed the restaurants would be similar. Boy were we wrong. We ordered the combination Pho, cashew chicken fresh spring rolls and lo mien noodles. Not 1 thing that we ordered had ANYTHING resembling flavor. the chicken was dry and boring. The "fresh" spring rolls were anything but fresh the shrimp inside had been cooked into rubber band like texture and lastly the pho is hands down the worst I have had in Wichita. The broth was totally flavorless and barely warm. chicken broth would have been better, it at least has salt. the meet was funky and seemed to be at the end of it life and the noodles were so clumped together I had to cut them into chunks. It wasn't all bad as everyone there was extremely friendly and attentive, and it seemed to be clean. For my money though there are far to many good places in the area to eat...
Read moreTruly a haven for lovers of Vietnamese cuisine. The menu is vast and filled with authentic flavors that transport you straight to Vietnam. The Pho, a classic Vietnamese soup, is a standout. It's rich, hearty, and full of fresh ingredients. The spring rolls are light, crispy, and served with a tasty dipping sauce. Whether you're a fan of traditional dishes or willing to try something new, there's something for everyone. The restaurant itself is clean and inviting. It has a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff are friendly and attentive, always ready to recommend dishes or explain what's in them.
In terms of value, you can't go wrong at Saigon. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. It's possible to have a great meal without breaking the bank. My only minor gripe is that the restaurant can get a bit busy during peak times, which might lead to a longer wait. But the quality of the food and the overall experience are well worth it. If you're in Wichita and craving some delicious Vietnamese food, I'd definitely recommend. It's a delightful culinary journey right in the...
Read moreDon't be deceived by the nice decoration and modern feel from the restaurant! Waiter was nice and friendly, but, the foods ordered were atrocious. Menu description is misleading too.
I ordered an Almond Chicken combination which came with egg drop soup, fried rice, almond chicken, and snow peas, Kimchi and Shrimp soup with rice, and Chicken Banh Mi Sandwich.
Egg drop soup is smelly; just beaten eggs in thick liquid. Almond chicken was misleading, I ordered fried rice, and I thought it was fried rice and vegetables, and turns out it was yellow turmeric rice. Almond chicken and snap peas was alright. Kimchi with shrimp soup with rice - what a joke? 4 pieces of raw shrimp and 4 pieces of fermented cabbage, not satisfied at all. Chicken Banh Mi sandwich - that one was satisfactory at the very least. Tender marinated chicken with carrots and cilantro.
Overall, the don't spend your time at this restaurant. Not happy with the foods served and the quality was abysmal. You're better off spending your time at another Thai restaurant...
