We loved to go for a quiet date night, until: we had just received our food when the bartender refused another beer for a patron. Unfortunately, it was about 5 pints too late. The patron threw his beer at the flat screen at the other end of the bar, shattering it. He then stumbled into at least six tables. He couldn’t find the door; though I can’t fault him there. This is the worst set up space I can imagine and most claustrophobic restaurant I have been to. Glass was everywhere by this point, including in our food. The guy left, mostly crawling. We asked if the bartender called a taxi. The answer was “why would I?” Since they let someone this intoxicated leave and drive away, we asked if they notified the police. We received the same answer. We were charged for the glass filled food, and berated for asking about the police. To be honest, we don’t care about the big screen, but we would never sleep again if he killed someone and we could have done something. And, owners, the phrase you are looking for is “social host liability.” That’s why you should not have...
Read moreWell darn, thought we had found a new Brewery close to the house that we enjoyed. A week ago we went to Limestone and had a couple of beers and spinach artichoke dip, enjoyed it. Didn't end up staying long because A/C wasn't working all that well, due to brewing. So, we thought we'd come back this weekend with family.... Wow! What a different experience. We had a party of 9, ordered 2 appetizers, 5 beers, 4 sandwiches and 1 dessert. Everyone had received all of there food except for 1 person in our group. He received his sandwich after everyone else was done eating. Pointed that out to our waitress and asked if it would be free since the rest of us were done eating and she replied, "No, you are sitting here still drinking your beers." Husband asked to speak to manager. Manager came out, husband told him the situation. Manager didn't seem to think it was a big deal, told us No, we should have asked about it sooner and not to come back. Oh,...
Read moreI always really enjoy this micro brewery! The decor is unique and homey while being slightly whimsical. The food is fresh, not overly complicated, but loaded with flavor. A good mix of sandwiches, and wraps with yummy sides. But, most importantly, the beer is exquisite! A fairly wide selection of around 10 different flavors and styles ranging from lighter ales to sours, Belgians, and my favorite, IPAs. Many of the beers have complimentary fruit notes and are all artfully paired with their hop selection to stay very smooth and easy drinking even when the ABV climbs above 7%. Definitely in the top tier of local beer in Wichita, and that's saying a lot considering the burgeoning talent here. To top it all off, pricing is very reasonable and my favorite aspect is you can get a flight of four 5oz pours for only $8, and trust me, you'll want to try the whole offering. If reading this review didn't hint at it, I enthusiastically recommend Sweet Ali B's &...
