This place is great. Making a review about an experience. On a slow week day, took my kids. My kids like the water toy by the tornado, and a middle school age kid was over there snatching toys and breaking down what she made. She is 6 and has better understanding of manners and was saying, “Hey I was using that.” The boy literally ignored her and continued. I stepped in because I was watching idly for his parents and seeing if she could handle it. What I observed on multiple occasions here is a lot of parents dumping off their middle school aged kids and higher and they go around terrorizing the younger kids and running into them. This is especially true at the medieval area and it makes me so anxious they’re going to push a child down the spiral stair case. I ended up asking this little boy where his mom was and told him he needed to share. The boy had the audacity to lie to my face and say my daughter was taking from him. I ended up telling him I was watching him the whole time and that was not true and I wanted to speak to his mother. Of course the mom showed up within a moment of this interaction and told him, “Let’s go, you don’t let an adult talk to you like that.” The woman never heard the conversation merely remarked on seeing me point a finger at him and lecture him. She walked off and I followed her. She didn’t even have the courage to turn around and acknowledge me as I said, “Excuse me, your son was being a bully.” I think the lesson of this experience is for this museum to be great, people need to act like a community. I know the establishment has no control over people who can’t respect other people’s property or lack basic manners, but it takes away from the experience. I ended up leaving shortly afterwards because the woman made me angry and was trying to intentionally antagonize me by bringing her husband. We will continue to go again but I used it as a lesson to my child...
Read moreI took my son here to see the Pink Floyd experience. Little did I know I've already seen this one twice, I don't know why I thought it was something different. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the music of Pink Floyd immensely. It never gets old. The show itself is good, but not great. It's a little redundant, but if you love Pink Floyd, you're going to enjoy this show. The seating necessitates its formation for the dome show. However, I can't help but wonder how many people have fallen over each other trying to walk by when the seats are all full. That space is extremely narrow, and very dangerous for sight impaired (which my son is), and the elderly. Thankfully, my son and I found a good place to sit. As far as the concession stand, during my time in line to get in, I noticed only one man was running it. The line was consistently at least 7 to 10 people long, and I was perplexed as to why only one person was doing the job of two or three during a busy time. Anyways, I took my son into the show and found him his seat, and came back out to grab some popcorn. I stood in line a good 15 minutes before it was my turn, and at that very moment, the employee informed me that they had run out of popcorn. (the only damn thing my son wanted, lol!) He said it would take about 7 minutes, but by then, the show would have already started. I just went back to my seat. However, approximately 20 minutes later, Josh actually found me and handed me a free box of popcorn. I thought that was pretty damn spectacular. He went out of his way to close down the concession stand and come find us. That is just above and beyond. His name is Josh, and I think he needs a raise if he's going to continue to do two people's jobs. He shouldn't have to feel so much pressure. Anyways, we will be back to explore Exploration...
Read moreI don’t write reviews but my husband and I both agreed we needed to. We visited with the sunflower summer app and had a great time in the museum. The exhibits were fun and interactive but my husband and I weren’t sure if we were going to get a membership or not because we have a few others in town. What sold us was an experience we had when we were about to leave. We were going to get a snack before the movie and we saw a mom with three kids struggling to get her youngest into his stroller, he was very upset and was throwing quite the tantrum. When mom picked him up he threw his head back and hit her in the nose. Mom wrestled him back into his stroller and mom was getting a bloody nose. Before we could even react we saw an employee come over and ask mom if she was ok, see that she was bleeding and offer her a Kleenex. Mom had tears and the lady told her she was doing a great job, pointed her to the restroom, and told her that she would stay there with her kids and to take as long as she needed. We got a snack and when we came to sit down the employee was kneeling down and talking with the toddler and got him calmed down and interacted with the other kids. They were all smiling and mom came back and the employee asked her again if she needed anything. Mom said she was ok and told the kids they had to leave early because she had blood on her clothes and the kids were upset. The lady asked if she used that app and if she needed some passes to come back another day. The mom was a member but thanked her and the lady told her again that she was doing a great job and hoped to see them soon. We should have said something to the lady but we asked her name when we got our membership and they said...
