I went with a group of 3. We each got 2-3 meat platter and shared meats. We also purchased the smoked wings.
Let me say that I was Kansas City BBQ certified and worked at City BBQ for almost 7yrs as a pit master. I am suuuuper picky about my smoked meats and sides.
The brisket was phenomenal wet. I don't do lean, but my friend had it and enjoyed it as well. The ribs are bite off the bone, but still tender, however you cannot fork them. They had a great smokey flavor. The chicken wings were the best smoked wings I've ever had. They were crispy and smokey, but not too smokey. The ham was okay. The texture was like store bought and processed ham, not ham off the bone. It wasn't bad and had a mild smoke flavor, but I wouldn't order it again...same for the sausage.
My sides were green beans and corn cheese casserole. The green beans were canned, which is understandable, but it tasted too canned for me. It had bacon, which helped, but it needed the can juice drained and chicken stock added or something of the sort. The cheese corn casserole was AMAZING. I was kinda shocked by how much I loved it. It had next day leftovers after Thanksgiving feel. My portion had green beans, chive, sausage, brisket and cheese. The cream rehydrated next day meat and it was a delicious adventure with each bite.
I could tell brisket was sliced to order.
The staff was kind and thoughtful. The price was comparable. I...
Read moreStopped here for supper and shared a three-meat plate with my wife: ribs, moist brisket, and turkey, with potato salad, green beans, and mac and cheese as our sides (we ordered an extra one). The ribs were quite good, a bit of chew, good rub, good texture. If I were nitpicky, I'd call them slightly overdone, but they weren't fall-off-the-bone and they get good points for that. Brisket was excellent. Why everyone doesn't offer a moist brisket option I don't know. I also don't know why anyone would want anything else. It's just friggin delicious. Anyway, super good texture and flavor, rub coulda come off a bit stronger, but I can't complain. Turkey was decent, I think my main issue here is preferring larger chunks to slices, but the flavor and texture was excellent. It's easy to over-smoke turkey, and they didn't do that. Sides were so-so. I get the impression that their focus is the meat, with the sides being mostly serviceable. Of the three, the mac and cheese was the best. Overall, quite good and...
Read moreVery small and outdated establishment. Both times I have been in the staff has been very unfriendly and rude. Decided to give it a second chance. This time the staff was still rude, I asked about the TOAST that was supposed to be in the meal and the fact it states that it is toasted, but watched the girl pull two pieces of bread right out of the bag and shove them in the box. She rudely stated they aren’t toasted when I asked, so I asked her to remove them. We got two 2 meat dinners for $13 because e paid the different for the SLICED brisket. Each portion of meat was literally 3-4 bites. Wasn’t even sliced. Didn’t receive correct sauces that were requested. Meat was okay but very bland, almost dry to where it seemed it had been sitting out for hours. I will not recommend this place nor return to give business. I will go to the other two brothers off central and 235 for better service and correct portions for the amount...
