Blue Diamond Motel — Hotel in Wildwood

We booked a room for 8 people and when we came there was only room to sleep 6 people ( we have evidence of our biking being for 8 people). The room was absolutely FILTHY. Stains on the mattress that looked like dried blood. The sofa bed had bugs crawling on it and the when we open it all the way out it would not close. Pieces of the bed were falling off with the slightest movement. It reeked if cigarettes and the floor was absolutely disgusting. We tired to contact management about this respectfully and told them we’d be willing to stay despite the conditions if we gave us the extra beds. What we got in return was ONE cot that was falling apart and reeked. The managers response to this was basically that it wasn’t his issue to deal with. We asked for a refund and told him we would go stay elsewhere. He STILL refused and decided to turn off his phone. We ended up having to call the cops to make a report and only them did the owner decide to give us a refund in 2-3 business days. Fast forward a few days and the owner is refusing to give us our money back and telling booking.com THAT WE stayed there all weekend and broke his furniture. We have evidence of our stay at another location yet somehow this was our fault. The pictures posted online were way different than in person. Our room was disgusting!! My daughter crawled on the floor and her legs we black within 5 mins! I went out and got cleaning stuff and cleaned the room myself. Then we went to the board walk and came back to ants in our room. The pool was falling apart and was really small. The pool was gross it was always cloudy. Then there was a burning smell so bad it was electrical we ended up calling the owner because our truck was parked next to where the smell was coming from we were worried about the place catching fire. When we called we were told a handy man was supposed to be on the property which he wasn’t. He finally showed up and was there for hours when my husband asked what the issue was he was told the stove was off but the stove was still on the wires were so hot and the smell from the room and heat from the wires were setting the smoke dector off!! We thought it was a room for maintaining the pool here it was someone’s room!! I will NEVER stay here or waste a dime at this place!! My fiancee and enjoyed our stay here & definitely plan to come back. I would've given 5 stars because not only was the room HUGE w/ an eat-in kitchen area and back door, unfortunately we had issues with the TV in both rooms. The picture quality was extremely poor for both TVs...and we had to fix the one in the bedroom becuz it wasn't working correctly. Also, they were both small [32-36" maybe...] The bed is SO UNCOMFORTABLE....we slept on the couch 1 of the 2 nights it was so hard. There is no AC in the bedroom either but the one in the living room was good enough to cool the entire space. The only other negative thing was that other guests of the hotel were sitting on the chairs/benches right out front of our room - in front of our window. The one morning they were being loud and extremely rude & it was early too. It was just strange to us becuz every room has chairs and/or benches out front so Why sit on ours?? Other than that the staff was very nice and let us check in early. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, the space was huge and the room was well cleaned and stocked. Close to the beach and other things as well. Price...
