Let me tell you about the Sand Box Motel in Wildwood, NJ. We all like having the confidence that when we go away from home, wherever we end up staying, will be just as pleasant, if not more plesant, than the comforts of our own home. When we head off for that vacation, the beak from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we expect a time of relaxation; a time to simply unwind and let the cares of the world drift away like a summer breaze. Staying here at the Sand Box Motel has been just that and more; beyond my expectations! I've stayed at a lot of motel's; and even at classy hotel's! Yet all the glamour and pomp and circumstance of your most ritzy hotel could not compare to the personal touch and camaraderie of the Sand Box Motel. Shiv, the Motel Manager, met us with a smile and greeted us as we checked in; allowing us to fix our own check in time, something unheard of in other establishments! Beyond this we were also able to meet his family, who also went more than above and beyond to see to our requests during our stay. We found our room to be well in order, as anyone would expect of a Motel. The facilities were clean and very comfortable; a five star experience, and trust me I have very high standards! I found Shiv to be very personable and courteous; remembering our names and the name of my Beagle; something again that I take very seriously. In any other establishment, you will not find this personal touch. Sure, the staff will be willing to meet your needs, but will they do so graciously or with a smile... So, in closing, if you have a pet and want to go on vacation in Wildwood, I highly recommend the Sand Box Motel! FIVE STARS, Thank You Shiv, and Family for the...
Read moreMy wife and I wanted to return to Wildwood for the first time in many years for a brief stay. It was a last minute decision. Unbeknownst to us there was a Country Musicfest on the beach that weekend, so rooms were hard to come by. Fortunately my wife was able to book the last room available at The Sandbox Motel. We have stayed at the Four Season, the Borgota, countless upscale Hotels. And though this could never compare to those, I don't recall ever being more impressed with a staff and the amenities or the friendliness of fellow guest. It was quaint, cozy and extremely clean. Only a few blocks from the beach, but we spent the day in the pool and the attached hot tub. We played cornenhole and goofy golf poolside while listening to great music. All supplied by the Motel. The desk staff, Theresa and Debbie, are the friendliest you'll find anywhere. There is a huge 2nd floor patio above the carport, with penty of seating and a propane Weber Grill for guest use. There are 2 more Weber Grills beside the pool with additional tables for eating or just hanging out. Though we rarely spend time in the room, it was great. It had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, flat-screen tv, and an AC that kept us plenty cool, the way we like it. More good news. There is a bar/restaurant called Mulligans right next door that had terrific food and cocktails, a beer/liquor store next to that, and a supermarket right across the street. I can't say enough about this place. We look forward to returning as soon as possible. Ps, I did I mention it's...
Read moreMy stay at the Sandbox Hotel was truly fantastic. I loved my room—spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. The service was exceptional, so much so that I even extended my stay for an extra night. Waking up to find my new key already delivered to my door made everything feel effortless. The staff here are genuinely friendly and welcoming, making an effort to socialize and connect with guests—something rare I’ve experienced elsewhere.
Shiff, the owner, is a wonderful person who genuinely cares about his guests’ comfort. He even goes the extra mile by helping with pets, showing his thoughtful nature. The pool was perfectly heated, and there were plenty of activities for children—sandbox, mini basketball, and plenty of pool toys. My kids and I enjoyed playing beach ball in the pool with the friendly staff, creating memories I’ll cherish.
While it’s not a luxury resort, this hotel stands out as one of the best in Wildwood for families. It’s clean, family-oriented, and staffed by some of the friendliest people I’ve encountered. If you’re traveling with pets or children, I highly recommend it. The location is ideal—close to essentials like an Acme grocery store and a liquor store, with easy access to the boardwalk by car. It’s conveniently situated near pharmacies like Walgreens and CVS within walking distance, making it easy to get what you need. Plus, there’s a Jacuzzi to unwind after a day of fun.
A heartfelt thanks to Shiff and his wonderful team for making our stay...
