Me and my sister had high hopes for this place based on positive reviews. The restaurant looked really cute from the outside and the decor inside was nice. We got seated promptly and had immediate service. As soon as we ordered our food, everything went downhill. We debated between what we thought was mozzarella sticks or cheese curds before deciding on the mozzarella sticks to our server. Saying mozzarella sticks several times. We also asked about the pulled pork sandwich and the burger both were on the lunch menu. Both highly recommended so that’s what we ordered, with a small Caesar salad. The mozzarella sticks were not mozzarella sticks at all, it was cheesy bread, which is not what we were trying to order. We saw that they had cheesy bread on the menu and what we thought were mozzarella sticks listed underneath. Had we been told that that’s not what we were ordering we would not have gotten in them. We decided to make the best of it and just try them anyways, but my sister is pregnant and it didn’t agree with her at all. I didn’t Care for the cheesy bread either. The waiter was really nice and tried to reassure us that the manager would understand the confusion and would take it off the bill for us, and then came back to let us know that the manager would not be taking it off the bill or doing anything for us. We were still polite and accepted that And just asked for the food to be taken away. We were really hungry At this point, so we tried our salads. The salads had hardly any dressing on them and what it did have tasted really bad. I was still giving them the benefit of the doubt that our entrées would be better because of all the good reviews that I had read. That in fact was not the case, I was asked twice If I wanted my burger, pink or no pink, I said no pink twice my burger was very pink in the middle. It had almost no seasoning, I’ve never had a burger be so dense and dry yet raw in the middle. My sister‘s food she got the barbecue was also very bland. At this point, we were highly disappointed And just wanted to leave. Again, our server was nice, But I would not recommend this restaurant. I did not enjoy any of the food. It was highly disappointing that the manager didn’t take the time to come over and speak to us, especially when the restaurant was almost completely empty. I personally have worked in the service industry for years and we are very easy-going people but honestly, I would not give this a try again, especially for $50. I’m sure there are other good local...
Read moreMy family was looking for a unique place for dinner after a long day at Water Country USA. We found Craft 31 and decided to try it. The restaurant was about a 10 minute drive from the water park and is easy to find. There is a good-sized parking lot with spaces around the entire property.
When we entered the restaurant, we were seated immediately with an option to sit inside or outside. To the right was a nice size bar area and to the left is where the main dining area is located. The server came over quickly and dropped a card on the table with his name making it easy to remember his name (Noah).
We tried three margarita flights with salt and a flight of beer which come with four drinks each. Both were very good, but I would recommend the sugar rimmed glasses for the margaritas as they are flavored and not your typical traditional margarita.
For food, we ordered the pretzel bites as an appetizer which came with about 12 mini pretzel bites and a cup of beer cheese. My wife and I each had a salad with added chicken. The kids ordered the cheeseburger kids meal and a pizza. The salads were very fresh and the chicken was tender. The cheeseburger kids meal came with two mini slider cheeseburgers and the pizza had six slices and was a good size. All the food was prepared quickly and the server was attentive to our needs.
Towards the end of our dinner the lights started to flicker and then went out completely about five minutes after the flickering started. The servers and the managers were very apologetic at no fault of their own as it was local power outage in the area. We had a 15% off coupon to use for the bill, however since the power was out they could not traje the coupon as discount. Instead, they offered a larger discount for our meal due to the inconvenience which was a surprise because the service was outstanding.
I would highly recommend Craft 31 if you visit the Williamsburg area looking for a unique dining experience. The food and drinks are great and the service is top notch. Thanks again Noah for the...
Read moreEdit: The response provided to my original post by this restaurant is not factually correct. It was not explained that the patio was heated. I did not request a booth. I was offered one indoor table by the hostess. She stated it was the ONLY table available. I stand by my statement that the table I was sat at was the single worst table I have ever been sat at in my whole life. I have now removed 2 stars from my original 3 stars I gave for service because of how the restaurant handled this review and basically called me a liar.
My son and I arrived at 345 pm on a Saturday. Upon entering a nearly empty restaurant, we were told by the hostess that they only had 1 inside table or patio seating available. We chose inside table because my son was wearing shorts and it was cold outside. She told us the seat was by the kitchen and had a bit of foot traffic prior to being seated. Once at the table, it became quite obvious that this was the worst table I have ever been sat at in any restaurant I've ever been too. The table is located on a blind curve to the kitchen where every wait staff that comes in or goes out must say "corner". My son stopped counting at 162 corners. We were not able to hold conversation and my view was of a stack of napkins. On the other side of us was the restroom. I initially did not say anything because I was not sure why we were told this was the only table available and kept waiting for the other tables to have guests seated at them. We went nearly our whole meal with not one of those tables being seated. We were there a total of 45 minutes. After speaking with the manager, she said they allow 1 hour 15 minutes to turn each table so they did not seat any tables that had reservations within that time frame. That table should not exist for the purpose of seating customers. It is impossible to have an actual dining experience there that isn't terrible. The food was average. We will not come back. The manager comped my son's dessert but otherwise made many excuses why we...
