Aside from the delicious coffee, baked goods, and vast array of options, the thing that ultimately sets The Coffeehouse apart--not just from other coffee places, but small businesses in general--is the grace of its owner, Charles.
Each time I've visited, his service is notably high and above that of almost any establishment I've ever been to. I leave every time feeling cheerful to have been witness to someone who really truly cares to bless others with his service.
Most notably, right after my son was born, I dropped in to get a much needed "I-just-had-a-baby-and-can't-keep-my-eyes-open" cup of strong coffee. I stopped in quickly for a brew, and had noticed Charles standing by the door as I grabbed my drink. I didn't know who he was at the time and assumed he was another customer waiting for someone else before he could leave. I took my time grabbing napkins, taking a sip to check for adjustments, adding cream, etc. I probably spent two minutes taking my sweet, sweet time. He didn't move. As I approached the door, I realized he had been patiently waiting just to hold the door for me as I pushed my son in the stroller. I'll never forget that.
Today we went and he joked with my now 18 month old and treated us, as always, in such a beautiful manner. I even took note of how pleasantly he interacted with his employees.
Again, the coffee and treats will not disappoint. But the real...
Read moreI stopped by The Coffeehouse and tried their honey lavender latte with almond milk—hands down one of the best lattes I’ve ever had. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet, with that subtle floral note from the lavender that pairs so well with the honey. It was smooth, comforting, and incredibly flavorful.
One of the things that sets them apart is that they roast their own coffee in-house—and you can taste the difference. The freshness and quality really shine through in every sip.
The service was just as great as the coffee—warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. You can tell the staff enjoys what they do, and it really adds to the cozy, laid-back atmosphere.
I also appreciated how easy it was to pay with Apple Pay—quick and convenient without having to dig around for my wallet.
This place is a must-visit if you’re in Williamsburg and craving great coffee with even better vibes. Can’t wait...
Read moreI was so excited to see the variety of coffee beans/coffee they offer! However, if you want a fresh pot of coffee, you will be disappointed. They make the coffee premade and pour it in a hot thermos. However, depending on when it’s made, it doesn’t hold the heat. I was served coffee that was pumped out of a hot pot thermos. The coffee was lukewarm and honestly, I don’t know how long it was sitting there in the thermos! They warmed it up in the microwave in the coffee cup and gave it back to me. I then wanted a fresh cup of coffee that was hot and they gave it to me again warm. I drank less than half a cup and decided. It was not worth it. Really sad because I wanted to enjoy a flavorful cup of hot coffee! My suggestion is have less variety of coffees and serve fresh coffee! The apple turnover was delicious. Maybe they are better at the food...
