Taco Mexicali's Richmond Road — Restaurant in Williamsburg

2024-07-21 Alejandra provided excellent service and the food was good for our group of 12 people including children.

2018-06-13 was looking for Mexican food, another restaurant told me 20 minute wait for 2 people, called taco Mexicali and they said no wait for 2 people, when we arrived they seated us immediately, chips and dip and servers arrived at the table immediately after we were seated, placed order, and my daughter loved the 3 hard tacos combo and I enjoyed the chicken fajita. Highly recommend!

2017-08-29 as always, this place never ceases to amaze me, I had to circle the parking lot at lunch time because parking lot was full, so I parked, went inside and one area of the dining room was full, they seated me immediately, I placed order immediately and got my food within 5 minutes. The chicken fajita was good and hot, chips and white sauce were good too.

2017-08-21 as always, this place has got to have the best authentic Mexican food and experience in Williamsburg. Chicken fajita and enchilada were excellent, the food is served hot and fast. This is definitely a good place to eat (always)!

3 years prior... Wow, my family went there after church, this past Sunday, and wow, I ordered chicken quesadilla and also an order of steak quesadilla. The quesadilla was the best quesadilla I ever had in my life. I was thinking that their serving was similar to Taco Bell, but boy, was I wrong and underestimated them! I ate the chicken quesadilla only, did NOT eat the rice/lettuce/etc, because the chicken quesadilla was sooo very good. before eating the quesadilla, I could NOT stop eating the chips that they bring out on the table with the white sauce. i ate soo much that I had to take the steak quesadilla home in a carryout box, gave it to my brother, and he just told me that that steak quesadilla is/tastes GOOD!

my family consisted of myself, my daughter, 4 of my brothers and their families (each of the families has at least 3), and my mother and my sister. the service was great. we had to wait for a little bit while they 'cook' the food, and they just kept bringing out our food and keep giving us refills of drinks...as needed.

i fully recommend them...i have been settling for La Tolteca (where there is a BUNCH of flies in that restaurant) and Plaza Azteca (tired of them)... so now I say, bring on the...

This was my third visit to this restaurant, I really enjoyed the food, today one of the orders was the taco birria. I ordered this meal in a prior visit, and it was wonderful, 5 tacos as the picture on the menu. I enjoyed so much before, I ordered it again for this visit, however this time I only received 3 tacos instead of 5. I asked the server why and he said this is what it is now, I checked the menu again and nothing showed the 3 tacos in the menu, I informed the server how the food was on our first visit and how the meal showed in the menu, but he didn’t care. The server insisted this is the taco birria. Service continued to be disappointing, not once did the server check our drinks, never refilling. Just before leaving we ordered a kids meal, which includes a drink. Reviewing the check, there were several inaccuracies. First the three tacos meal was the same price as the five tacos from a recent previous visit. Next we were charged 4 drinks, yet we had 3 drinks and a water. I brought the drink concern to the server’s attention too, and was told I am taking one drink to go. I explain him that I thought that it was the kid drink that comes with the kids meal, just as ToGo as the meal was. Anyway, the server left the forth drink charge, provided no service in assuring our drinks were full while eating, no kids drink, and charged for five tacos and receiving three. We had an amazing experience at Taco Mexicali! From the moment we walked in, the service was friendly and prompt. Our food arrived quickly, and they brought out chips and salsa right away—the salsa was fantastic! I really enjoyed it.

We ordered mild guacamole so the kids would enjoy it, and it was a hit! It was fresh and full of flavor. For my meal, I had the La Gringa steak. It was delicious, and the rice was flavorful and really good. I expected refried beans but got black beans with cheese on top. They were okay, but the fresh tortillas that came with the meal were fantastic.

My husband ordered the fajita burrito, which was a good size, and he finished the whole thing without any complaints. My daughter loved her cheese quesadilla but skipped the rice, while my son picked the burrito with rice and managed to eat all the cheese off the burrito and most of the rice—definitely a win in my book!

Our youngest had the quesadilla and fruit, and while she ate the fruit, my other daughter happily finished it.
