The good: The food is surprisingly tasty - above average for bar food. The pot roast plate is tender meat with a heaping of silky mashed potatoes. The burgers and sandwiches are always tasty. And I always order a side of tots - hot and crispy and full of deliciousness. The beer selection is pretty decent, with a good variety of local brews.

The bad: The service is below average at best and outright abysmal at worst. If I sit at the bar, there's somehow three or four "bartenders" yet it can be 10-15 minutes before anyone comes for my order. Good luck getting timely refills or closing out your tab in any kind of timely manner. If I sit for table service, I try to order everything at once because there is no telling when the server will come back. Doesn't matter if I go in the middle of the day or on a packed Friday night, the service is always the worst part. I'm hesitant to order any mixed drinks because of the wide range of quality of the bartenders. However, I do not think the problem is with the employees themselves - I suspect many of the servers do not have a lot of experience and are not trained adequately to provide good service.

The decor is fine but the acoustics are a hot mess. I stopped going for an live music event because it's literally too loud to hear myself think, let alone enjoy a beer or food or friends. I feel like the owners read a blurb about how loud bars make people spend more on drinks and just ran with it as a business idea.

Overall, it's a nice venue that benefits from the fact that it's the only game in town. As a local, it's nice to see more options downtown but the fact is this restaurant does not seem to be well managed - a feeling bolstered by the fact that they cannot seem to train or retain staff well. In fact the last two days they have been partially closed due to no workers. It's a shame, as I would love to see it thrive. But for now, it rates as...

went here for the first time bc of all the good reviews, went for valentine’s day with my bf. waited 10-15 minutes just to order a drink, there was only one server and he was chatting up with everyone else. while we waited for our appetizer for 40 minutes! a lot of the options were crossed out on the menu there isn’t a lot to choose from either like we thought from all the pictures online and the ones on facebook, we go to order our main meal and they say they are out of chicken! when they could have said this before we even walked in the door. only other think we were able to order was a burger, mac n cheese, and philly cheesesteak which neither of us wanted i wanted the grilled chicken BLT and they were completely out of any chicken when half of their menu is chicken, also when we got our starter the tater tots were cold, wasn’t worth the wait and definitely won’t come here again ever. they also don’t serve tea either, only coke products no root beer aswell, idk what the hype was about this place, it was so dead there only 2 other people were there. the server did offer us free drinks for the wait but wasn’t worth it especially me being under 21 and my bf had to drive so he couldn’t drink another drink. they didn’t even offer us the valentine’s day menu either shown on their facebook! and the main course of that was chicken aswell, i hope most got a better experience then we did but the wait was ridiculous for the amount of people...

I went there tonight as it was taco Tuesday hoping to try one of their amazing tacos that I was told about from others. While also waiting for a seat they told me that it was last call for food an hour before closing which baffles me. As it says online that it doesn’t close until 9:00. So I ordered my food to go as I decided not to wait for a seat as it was sorta busy. I got there an hour before closing and when I went to order they were out of tacos. I understand that at times this happens that you run out of tacos but I’m a little bit surprised that they ran out of tacos an hour for closing as well as closing the kitchen that early. After ordering my food I then waited 30 minutes if not more to receive my food. Which by the time I got home which was five minutes away I noticed I was missing a side and my salad had meat and wanted to get my side and have them remake the salad as it had no dressing on it and had meat after I asked for no meat . So decided to call the number on the receipt which is not a real number as it just hung up on me when I called so looked up the number. Once I found it online and called they told me that they cannot do anything about it until the next day and if i wanted to come he next day I could get it then. I said no thank you as i had work and was busy and moved on. The food was who is OK at not great as it seem to be rushed. I do not know if will be...

Beware! Read before you go here! I usually don't write reviews, but our experiences was so bad I had to. We decided to try The Butcher Pub because of the ratings, boy we were disappointed. We ordered online only to find out they canceled my whole order when I arrived to pick it up. We didn't get a notification and my card was charged. The food that is actually available is a fraction of what is listed online. So good luck finding anything. When we finally got our food, they didn't give us any utensils, dressing, or sides which the food said it came with. The service was terrible. No one apologized for anything, or even asked if i wanted a drink, it is a bar by the way. Instead they were all too busy complaining how there was nothing to do at work with friends or coworkers that came in and helped themselves to free booze behind the bar. Way to go Butcher Pub you Butchered it!

First time to visit this place. Cold beer and hot sandwiches!!! Follow up visit on 2/26/2022. Had lunch with my 2 sons that live in Williamsburg. I ordered Reuben egg rolls appetizer for a lunch meal. Very tasty!! Went well with my 2 Corona's 🍻. Our server did excellent job checking in and offering refills. I really like the uniqueness and atmosphere here. Here's another Follow up visit. On May 14, 2022, my wife and I decided to come here for lunch. Devin was our server and it was a pleasure talking to him. He was very friendly and professional. Our meals were totally awesome, hot and fresh!!!! It looked like the menu had changed a little, but had a nice variety.

Don’t underestimate this quaint pub in this sweet small town. We were traveling through and stopped in for lunch. Variety of interesting beers and what appeared to be a full bar. We ordered fish & chips and a side salad for some vegetables and wow! I never expect much of a side salad in a pub, but it was nicely packed with veggies and the presentation was a pleasant surprise served in a small iron skillet. It was delicious and the dressing tasted homemade. The fish was flaky and wonderful and was served with unique “chips” (curly fried potatoes). We were very happy with our restaurant choice and would love to try some other menu items. Nice job, Butcher’s Pub!
