Service needs improvement, last two times I was there service was pretty bad. The first time it was busy the second time it was not. The first time .... Where do I begin. The only "service" we got was them bringing the food to our table. They were busy, we were told that we can get our own drinks after waiting almost 20 minutes for them. The food was good, but they never checked in on us or asked if we needed anything else. In fact my mother was there for that visit and tripped on the deck entryway. Nobody even came out to offer help... But some of the customers did offer their help. Mind she has had both knees replaced and it could have been very bad but luckily she was okay, just sore for about a week. The most recent visit, I was having a car worked on down the street so me and my son decided to walk down and have a late lunch. Food was terrific, service was not. They had maybe 4 tables with customers, and we waited almost 10 minutes to be waited on, and the waitress checked on us one time. Never brought our bill to us, had to go to the counter to get it and pay. Maybe that's the way they do it but seemed like it was something else. I don't...
Read moreThe staff is amazing - sadly, they're probably the best thing about this place.
I had the fried catfish and my husband had the ultimate grilled cheese. Both of us had fries as sides, and tea to drink.
The catfish was delicious, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. This was the best item in our meals.
The slaw was ok, not too sweet, just as I like it, but the veggies tasted like they were from a bag.
The grilled cheese was just two different colors of American cheese - white and yellow. No type of contrast, they both tasted exactly the same. It was more toasted than grilled, and the cheese didn't even melt.
My bacon ranch fries were slightly soggy, and the bacon was whole pieces just dropped on top, not crumbled up as it should have been. My husband's chili cheese fries were also soggy, and barely lukewarm. The cheese on them never melted.
Overall, food is just ok and it's a bit pricy for what you get. They claim to have "the best burgers in town", so I might go back to try them, but if that's true then they need to stick to burgers and leave...
Read moreA few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I were driving from Georgia to New York. We were hangry and cranky and we stumbled upon this place, sat down and grumbled to ourselves. We were greeted with some of the friendliest service either of us has ever come across, and the food was so good; they made a simple burger and fries into some of the tastiest I ever had. A woman, who's name may have been Polly, talked with us and we shared stories of travels. In the end, she sent us on our way with a cheesesteak sandwich (totally free of charge), full bellies and happy moods. She didn't care that we looked totally bedraggled from travelling or that we were cranky, she just saw to it that we were fed and happy. This place is above and beyond unforgettable and if I could give it more than 5...
