Top's China — Restaurant in Williamsburg

I ordered $60's worth of food through doordash, because I couldn't drive. Due to having a broken ankle.. after eating the food with my kid we noticed all of the food was extremely greasy. The grease tasted like it was old.. all the food had the same "old" flavor. It was disgusting!! I called Top China and told them I wanted a refund. They wanted all of there food back. So I said ok and asked them if they were picking it up? They refused.. I get that.. so I called a friend to come and pick it up and return it. I mean $60's worth it wasn't something to just say whatever to. While I waited for my friend to drive from NN to Williamsburg my daughter ate the $5 worth of donuts I ordered. After confirming what I needed to do the refund the lady told me I needed to bring the food and $5's back for the full refund. Angrily I said you can't cover $5's after you ruined our meal and made us drive everything back?! I was furious! I'll never go back! Horrible Chinese food and even worse customer service!!! I've been working in customer service long enough to know to at least make the customer feel like you care. Even if you don't. . In this case they didn't care about anything, but their money!! Wow!...

My sister & I ordered take-out for the first time at the restaurant this past rainy Saturday night (more on that in a moment) for a family dinner. The restaurant is clean, from the visible kitchen to the tables & floor. The lady behind the counter was very gracious & kind. Our food was ready in 10 minutes, just before an absolute deluge of rain, wind, lightning & thunder started.

My sister is a tiny lady in her late-70's. I told her to stay put as I ran out to pull my car up as close as I could....as I did, I noticed the same kind lady that took our order walking into the parking lot under an umbrella in the pouring rain, while holding my sister's arm!! She opened my passenger door & helped my sister get in (she was carrying the bag of food), thanked US, wished us safe travels, and ran back to the restaurant!

My sister looked at me and said, "I don't care how bad the food tastes, I'll be coming back to order again!" Lol.

But the meal was great! We ordered vegetable fried rice, sweet & sour chicken, sweet & sour pork, and spring rolls. They did not skimp on the food! Each container was packed.

Normally, I hate Chinese food. I have had experiences with very little meat in a meat and veggie dish, repeated rude service, secretive price increases on the food and absolutely poor quality food. I have had FAR too many dishes where white meat chicken has been dark/ bruised. BUT....my family likes Chinese food and I decided to give it a whirl since it had been months of me saying "No thanks." WELL....I was PLEASANTLY surprised. This place was slammed and I know why. The food is of exceptional quality, prepared quickly AND accurately and the service....there are no words to describe. I guess if I HAD to describe the service I would say hospitable, warm and welcoming. Every single employee I encountered there was that way and it was very hectic (easy for employees to get frustrated that way). But they treated every customer with respect and the food was super fresh. I will eat here again...
