Stopped in for lunch after running a few errands. I was curious about the food after seeing a few posts on their Facebook page.
The parking lot was full as was the restaurant. After a short wait we were led to a booth. The menu was like a book - so many choices. And everything looked good. Since it was a chilly rainy day, we both decided on comfort food - chicken and waffles for me, and meatloaf for my hubby. Both came with mashed potatoes. We put in our order and then waited. And waited. I timed it - it took 40 minutes to get our food. Not sure what the issue was - there were plenty of servers. We watched two tables come in after us and got their food before we did.
My chicken and waffles were okay. Tender pieces of white meat chicken over a soft waffle. The gravy tasted like it was from a jar, and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant.
Hubby's meatloaf seemed off. His first comment was about the color. It just didn't look right. And the edges of the slices seemed dry. He also says his gravy tasted jarred, and was pretty sure he had instant mashed potatoes as well. I took a bite of his meatloaf and noted an odd spice. Another small bite confirmed that I wasn't fond of the taste and glad I hadn't ordered what he did.
We got dessert to go - a large slice of peanut butter pie and a large slice of lemon meringue cheesecake. I think dessert will be the winner of our meal at...
Read moreVisited Harvest moon today. Was excited to try the food after all the good reviews. However, when we arrived, many of the staff were not wearing masks. We were seated and had gotten our coffee and were waiting for our food. There were plenty of older customers in the restaurant. When our waitress came over to check on us, I asked why she was not wearing a mask. She mentioned that it was her choice to wear a mask. I had kindly told her that we would be more comfortable if she wears a mask since she goes table to table. She replied that it is "HIPPA". At this point we decided to pay for our drinks and leave the restaurant because this is a safety concern. They did not require for us to pay for the coffees even though we offered. I subsequently called the manager/owner Joe and expressed our concerns but he too dismissed it saying that it was our choice to be in his restaurant.
I am a physician and have taken care of many patients with COVID. We are still trying to fight this pandemic which has taken so many lives and has over burdened the hospitals. We are placing our lives at risk taking care these patients. It is everyone's social responsibility to reduce this spread. This is encounter has been unsavory. While it is the person's individual choice to be in the restaurant, I feel that the leadership/owners need accountability. I would not be comfortable bring my...
Read moreThis place was great! We are on our way to Bills Old Bike Barn and needed some lunch and decided to stop at Harvest Moon. I got the meat lovers scrambler, my daughter got the build your own pancake and our waitress brought all the toppings for her. my son got the Oreo stuffed French toast and loved it. My boyfriend got the 8 oz black diamond breakfast and it was amazing. The steak was perfect! So good. The service was awesome as well :)and we got the crab tater tots as an entree and those were so yummy. We definitely got too much to eat. the ONLY thing that I could say is that an ant got into their chocolate chip container or something because my boyfriend ate a dead one with the chocolate chip he plucked from the toppings for my daughters pancakes. If it was a cockroach or something I’d be more grossed out but an ant is understandable lol. All in all it was a cute stop on our little weekend trip and we would stop again if we come back out here again :) we spent around $89 including the tip...
