El Mariachi Williamston — Restaurant in Williamston

I decided to eat here for my first time, I ordered enchiladas and rice with shrimp. The enchiladas were heavily douched in sauce making the whole entire dish unpleasant, the ground beef was heavily over cooked, dry and bland. The tortillas that wrapped the beef was soggy, and it was like eating mushy bread. The shrimp and rice were amazing, the shrimp was a bit too heavily seasoned but the rice was perfect! It had a cheesy flavor to it, with potatoes and other veggies that were perfectly cooked. MY big issue is here was the white restaurant smelled like PEE, when I first walked in I thought I was smelling someone else. No the bathroom is next to the kitchen with a strong order of pee, I see why customers were sitting far far away from the kitchen. The restaurant felt cramped from the inside to the outside, the tight parking spaces were a struggle to figure out. Unfortunately this was my experience, I will stick to los amigos where everyone is so friendly and greeted me with kindness. The whole restaurant smelled like heaven and food, no pee smell that over powered everything. I went here for dinner with a few friends. The food is great. It’s not the cheap, but looking at fast food prices now it’s not much more expensive and the quality is 10 times better here. I normally leave with some leftovers for the next day so if you look at it like it’s two meals it’s actually cheaper than fast food.

The service was great. The staff is always nice and even with our large party size (8) they made sure we were taken care of. Orders were taken timely, refills were always on time, and our waitress checked up on us frequently throughout the evening.

So, no pictures but I can provide some information. We had takeout ordered online. The food was really good. It was delicious. The salsa was on point and the flavor was amazing. The atmosphere inside was not vibrate. Perhaps due to the town. Folks were just relaxing which is good. The service was interesting because there was confusing over my online order. It took around 10 minutes to get things straight. Folks seemed confused and did not give me direct answers. There was one gentleman who was good with service but it could have been better.
