Decent food ruined by horrible service. They have your basic NC bbq options and they're decent. They stepped their game up over the past year or so with specialty items that are really good. The problems come when you order anything other than the traditional southern food. Several times we have ordered some of the new items and the people thwre acted like they had no idea what we were ordering or didnt know what their specials were. Half the time they are made differently or with different ingredients. The past 5 times we've ordered from there, it has taken 45 minutes or more to get an order of a handful of items. Only one time was there more than 2 or 3 other people in the place. Calling in to place your order can be infuriating when the person taking your order will randomly stop you from talking to put you on hold to talk to a coworker and you can hear their conversation. At the end of ordering where you would expect to get something like "ok it'll be about x-amount of minutes and x-amount of money, thank you" you only get "gimme a name.....ok. 'click" The owners have done a great job getting an updated menu, I hope they get their staff to improve as well. Yes, we will continue to order from there but we know what we have to deal...
Read moreIt' been a while since i ordered from Shaw's. For me i am juz glad it's still around...however my opinion or view point is tainted maybe even biased for i remember it from long ago- when it was behind the old Red & White Super Market. .I was a young kid then maybe not even in my early teens. In my early seventies now..so even though my memory is still good i admit time does change things...Shaw's really didn't have a store front back then. Maybe sorta like a garage or something...it was always wrapped up in a kind of butcher paper....off - white tight...Sometimed it might be warm...we would take it back to the farm house on the Bailey Road & maybe make sandwiches on loaf bread or juz eat it plain....an occasional hog hair or piece of skin you'd have to pull outta your mouth... It's taste was always consistent which was good. But that was in the 1960's. Everything has changed since then. That's the natural order of things...back then everything was a bit more home cooked...not quite the same today..maybe it could be better...maybe on some days it is... it's hard to keep a good thing going but if it's good it's worth the try, worth the effort... Let's hope it stays around a while longer...for...
Read moreI live in South Carolina and every time I come to a Williamston to visit my mother I always make it a point to come here and get some BBQ Sandwiches and will sometimes get some BBQ and slaw to take back with me. However, last Saturday (March 11th) I had a terrible experience with the young black female clerk. First, I waited patiently until she finished waiting on the person that was in front of me then she just walked away from the register over to the dining area as if I was not there, never acknowledging me. When she finally returned to the register, very pleasantly I ordered 2 BBQ sandwiches with slaw and that will be all. She caught me off guard by rudely asking (as demanding) "WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT." I reiterated that that was all. I paid for my order but didn't fill that I needed to see how she rung my order up. When I got my order and got out in my car, I opened one of the sandwiches to put hotsauce on it and to my surprise there was no slaw on it, I there looked at the receipt to see she put it in as "NO SLAW ." When dealing with the public good customer service is key to the success of a business. Everyone is not cut out for...
