I made the mistake of not asking for my tofu on my Tostados to be substituted with avocado. I gave them a call and let them know that I had messed up and if they could please make the switch I would appreciate it. They gave me a really hard time. They said it’s a Friday night and they’re slammed. This was an honest mistake and I just asked them to make an exception this one time. They said they would have to charge me for another plate. I explained my situation and they said I had to speak to the manager. The manager made me feel bad and she said she would do it this one time, and would have to charge me extra for the avocado. However they would never do it again because they typically don’t remake meals. They said it would go to waste! I’m sure someone like an employee could’ve taken it home and eat it. Also, I had ordered this plate before in the past and I was not charged extra for the avocado since I was just swapping the tofu for the avocado. I was already spending $53 and I was not going to pay for another plate. I don’t understand how a business like this can be so harsh with their customers and not be more understanding. They made me feel awful! I will not be back and I will not recommend them to anyone. It’s very sad because I am vegan and gluten-free and this was a restaurant that met my dietary needs. However I won’t be treated the way that I was treated ever again. They need to have better customer service and be more understanding and meet the customers needs. Mistakes happen! Also, the serving sizes are so small and not worth the expensive cost. They are too uppity and not a business I want to support. Such a shame! It’s my baby’s first birthday and I wanted to celebrate one year of breast-feeding. I wanted this to be a special night, but they really put a...

Sage Karma Kitchen exceeded every expectation I had. I have wanted to visit for years now and I finally made my way out to downtown Willoughby.

There is a lot of street parking but it is not difficult to find a parking lot if you can't find one on the main drag. The restaurant is on a corner and easy to find.

When you walk in you see a host stand and immediately to your right you will see the beautiful circular bar and lots of seating. They also have a patio in the back. We sat in the front and the big windows were open which was perfect - inside eating but with so much fresh air!

We started with the pretzel sticks and the peace, love and munchies platter. The pretzel sticks and the sauce they came with were astounding. You get a vegan buffalo cream cheese and a vegan ranch that is very garlic heavy and I mean that in the best way possible. The peace, loving munchies platter was perfect for my dad and I who had just gotten done hiking.

As my entree I got the vegan tostadas and I was blown away. This was absolutely in my top five meals of the year so far. And a pro tip for you: save some of the ranch from the pretzel sticks in it. Pairs perfectly with all the other flavors!

I'm already making plans to go back even though it's almost an hour away! 10/10.

Jordan was an amazing server and we hope he's there...

Inconspicuous gem serving New-American fare situated within downtown Willoughby. Passerbys cannot fully infer the value of Sage Kitchen; prior to entering. Interesting experience at the restaurant. Did provide an array of vegan options. What I found funny was at the time of the visit in front of the restaurant they were making ribs and selling them to the public. Which of course was due to the Willoughby Rib Festival. The food is pricier, but unfortunately, the atmosphere of a bar with TVs and regular drinks, plus the vegan concept was not a match here. People locally may make this a big deal but without that sports bar, it would be dead on arrival. Hard pass this one guys. I took a picture of the meal ordered, I appreciate the attempt to make it presentable, but it should have been plated not in a bowl.
