***Updated review as of visit on 11/22/24** I have now had multiple unpleasant visits to this location. Last night we ordered three pizzas, a Cesar salad and bruschetta between two separate orders. The white pizza was good, I didn’t have the pepperoni but my children didn’t complain so that also seemed fine. However, my Cesar salad on the description stated it had Parmesan cheese, red onion, croutons and black olives. I added broccoli but did not remove any ingredients. My salad came with romaine lettuce and broccoli, that’s it. No cheese, about 3 croutons, no onions and no black olives. VERY disappointing, especially when I spent $10.99 for a salad. The bruschetta bread was once again stale just as it has been every time we have ordered it except the first time. I don’t understand what is going on at this restaurant but you guys really have to get your stuff together. Your prices are pretty high compared to other pizza places in the area and your end product is pretty bad. If you want to give customers low standards, at least make your prices match what people pay for and receive. I had to come back and change my 5 star review because the first time I ordered was the only good time. The last three other times I’ve ordered from here there has been a problem. I always order extra cheese on my pizza which costs $3 extra and there is never any extra on it. Why am I being charged then? I order the bruschetta and the bread is hard and stale. This evening we ordered boneless wings with hot sauce and they are barely covered with any sauce! I also requested celery which we did not get. Absolutely horrible. Come on guys, get it together. Spent over $70! I wouldn’t mind but the food we got wasn’t worth more than $25! Clearly you charge for quality but that is not what you are providing to paying customers. It takes a lot for me to leave a bad review but after 3 bad experiences, it clearly wasn’t just a one time bad night. This is a consistent problem.

I’m going to date this review and you’ll see how in the next sentence. It’s so comforting to find a place where I can dine in. So it was here at Grotto Pizza in Wilmington. I ordered a boil and my first impression was it’s small. It turns out that it was just right. Actually it was just right in more ways than one. The crust wasn’t too thick, there was enough filling to be flavourful, and a cup of sauce was provided on the side. Everyone has their own tastes for “just right.” For my tastes this was just right on all counts. If you’re looking for a “wow. I can’t eat all that” Stromboli, this isn’t for you. If you’re looking for a Stromboli for two, this isn’t that unless you’re also ordering appetisers or sides. If you want a really good but not over the top Stromboli, then this might be just right for you.

Excellent! What do you expect? It’s the Olive Garden breadsticks of pizza. You know exactly what you’re gonna get every time to perfection. Eat it fresh and hot and you’ll have no complaints! ALSO. Bonus points, the bar tenders are always welcoming . Even if you’re a regular and make some horrible decisions sometimes. They always welcome you back! 😜

Staff and service is better than average and the pizza is the best around by a super slam dunk long shot home run game winner. I feel it's necessary to mention an important observation and opinion and I'm not exactly sure why this is but im pretty sure it has a lot to do with the water. Anyways, the pizza down at the shore, more specifically, any of the Grottos locations in or around Rehoboth Beach is even a notch or two or ten better tasting than the typical non shore Grottos slices. I've checked on Google regarding this phenomenon and it's a known fact that NYC pizza, as well as bagles are so saught after and liked so much better thank other locations, even ones close to NYC, specifically because of the mineral content in the water table in which drastically alters how the doughs rises, it's consists and obviously the doughs taste. It seems logical how this could be a similar reason why Grottos pizza at the shore is preferred and is more enjoyable. I realize this is based upon my opinion, however, I felt as though it was necessary to mention this observation as I literally have not met anyone who thinks differently about this and it's overwhelming how many people conversate about how and why the shore Grottos slices seems to have a different taste, a better taste than inland slices. Just to be clear, this is not to say inland Grottos is bad in any way, in fact it's amazing and the shore slices are out of this...

I just made a quick stopped on May the 8th because I needed to get something quick to take out.
