Forced myself to eat the oxtail because I didn't wanted to waste my money. Imagine that. The gravy was black and thick and overall salty salty x10. And no butter beans. That's a common and key ingredient that brings out the meat dish. By the presentation and being served it is not known. The cabbage was extremely over cooked with the salt. HIt's cabbage!! How can you over cook cabbage?? Is healthy eating not promoted here?? And wats's it with it and the SALT. That just made it HYPERTENSION. If you do not know Jamaican dishes you will rate K & R as the best. But it not the case in my opinion. If you know how the dishes are made, tasted, seasoned and should look. My beloved man had the curry chicken and narrowly escaped a hospital admission. I will say the same for me but smartly I didn't consume any. He continuously had to be on and off the tiolet like a human yo-yo. It has being extremly terrible for him with an already a weak stomach and K & R crashed it. Now he had to say his vows on several occasions It goes like this. "I WILL NEVER EVER EAT or BUY FROM THEM AGAIN." And I just added to his VOWS curried foods can be dangerous if one does not KNOW how to cook it and be selling it to the public. Evidently, the alleged make shift cookers don't know how to. Because he wouldn't have had diarrhoea. The ppl cooking the dishes need to be reshuffled with cook books in hand and return to Jamaican culinary school and learn from the best. Because that is not good and safe food and its not right. I told my man on multiple occasions that hey you got to be careful when it comes to curry and eating it from ppl. At one point pior we debated extensively about what to buy from K & R and in the end he said curry chicken I just wished him safe luck on it and said I don't want to any of that. He never brought it on that occasion Another thing is that it's like the food is just plastered in the container and its just looking like a slab of diarrhoea in a plastic container, disgusting. Seems as if there is no care when putting the food in the container. Its just a down right turn off. The restaurant it self is greatly built but the food needs a better master chef and not just random cookers who basically in my opinion cannot cook. Not everyone can follow a basic recipe expecially the seasoning. And don't try to justify this. It would be better for it to be bland than the heap of salt. The cookers are to heavy handed. They cook it as they would eat it. And whats it with the swimming pool (gravy) is just visualy unappetising. See pic. How can you present that thing. I think the best pics were photo shopped as it is nothing served or look like what is being sold to the public. Who in their right screws serves food like that know to the fact in the resturant world ppl eat with their eyes as well. You don't know what going on underneath it and maybe afraid to know. Don't know who the managers they should call an emergency meeting as this needs attention before someone is seriously ill. But they may not even know what is being sold to the public. This is our experience and it cannot be justify when someone narrowly escaped a hospital visit and admission. AND don't counteract this by stating "you didn't mention our expectations' it just a poor excuse. Because other ppl left their reviews by the way ppl "Don't forget to bring your water" and lots of as the salt is the highlight of the resturant and the swimming pool (gravy) This is my experience and not a personal thing. One cannot be criticize for their own experience. I do not eat curry from outside because I know it can be dangerous if not cooked properly. Not many people know this. I had to inform whomever I know if they contemplate to purchase it.

My family and I are on a road trip from NYC to Virginia this long Memorial Day weekend. We stopped by Delaware for lunch and discovered this hidden gem!!! K&R International Restaurant is by far the BEST Jamaican food we have ever had. As a family we ordered: Curry Goat, Curry Chicken, Jerk Chicken, and Pepper Steak. They give you a generous portion of food, especially the meat. Everything was seasoned to perfection and extremely flavorful (however, the curry dishes were on the saltier side). The chicken was incredibly tender and the mac n cheese was rich and creamy. They give you a choice of sides, including: cabbage, mac n cheese, and plantains. Our experience at the restaurant was very nice. We did have to wait ~30 minutes for our food, but once we tried their food- the wait was WORTH IT! Our faces quite literally lit up as soon as we took our first bites. Kevin, our waiter and chef, was also very friendly! Turns out he’s also a fellow New Yorker from the same neighborhood as us, Jamaica, Queens. This was a first for us as a family. We’ve met plenty of New Yorkers while traveling but Kevin is the first to be from Jamaica too. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. If you love Jamaican food and supporting small businesses, please check this place out 😊

Yooooo…I don’t review often but hot dang I’m over here bingeing on curry chicken and rice and beans. Lawd!! Might be the best I’ve ever had. The gravy whoa! Flavor you can savor! Reminds me of Genelles back in the day on market st mall, where I first fell in love with curry chicken. I’ve never thought that before. Also of note my husbands jerk chicken was banging too!!! And I don’t even like jerk chicken cuz it’s too spicy but theirs is not, just a lil kick. Not so ridiculous you can’t feel your tongue to taste the flavor. And It was perfectly grilled, juicy and not dry. The cabbage is not just steamed and unseasoned like most spots either. It was full on seasoned. Like better than my mommas. Amazing flavor just a tad bit salty. Now if I must critique I’d say the plantains were ok. Not showstoppers like everything else but definitely good enough to get again and use for my sweet/salty cravings. Anyway can’t wait to go back. Wish I took pics before I killed it. I’m stuffed y’all and look how much I got left. The large is for two people I think! ENJOY!

I’ve had 2 instances with this restaurant. My sister and I went in one day to eat about 2 months ago after I found them online and seemed like a good place to try. The brother greeted us was cool. Answered all our questions about the food so we tried the King Fish, Jerk Chicken, Potato Greens, Attieke Sauce. The potato greens were just lil salty but the flavor was great. The King Fish I wasn’t impressed with (it was my first time having it) guess I was expecting something else. The Jollof Rice was very good. The jerk chick was good also and the host/server made sure we had everything we needed and was attentive.

2nd Instance: Tonight I tried to call to order some food for pick up and some lady with an attitude answered the phone and didn’t give no sort of greeting, just hello. I had to ask “is this K&R?” she said YEA, I replied I’d like to place an order, she said “WELL WHAT DO YOU WANT!” I’m like excuse me… she replied again: “What Do You Want!l”… I just hung up. I don’t want to order from anyplace who don’t know how to promote your business proper when answering the phone or don’t know how to greet and customer. I wish the first brother would teach his staff how to greet cause for a lot of folks Customer Service is high on the priority list. I’ll skip over the fanciest, best restaurant if the service was horrible. I won’t spend any money of my hard earned money at a place that can’t do the most important job of greeting someone properly but most folks treat/greet you how they see you. So if they greet your horribly then that’s how they most likely see you. All good though I’ll just order from...

I had the most incredible dining experience at K&R Restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that set the tone for a memorable evening. The menu was a culinary masterpiece, offering a diverse range of dishes that catered to every palate.

I started with their signature appetizer, and it was a flavor explosion in my mouth. The attention to detail in every dish was evident, from the fresh ingredients to the exquisite presentation. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and I could taste the passion and expertise that went into each creation.

The staff at K&R Restaurant were not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings. Their recommendations enhanced my dining experience, making it even more exceptional.

The main course was nothing short of perfection. Whether you're a seafood lover, a steak enthusiast, or a vegetarian, K&R Restaurant has something to delight your taste buds. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that I left with a full and contented stomach.

To cap off this extraordinary culinary journey, the dessert was a sweet symphony of flavors and textures. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.

K&R Restaurant has earned its reputation as a dining gem. The combination of top-notch cuisine, impeccable service, and a charming atmosphere makes it a must-visit for anyone seeking a remarkable dining experience. I can't wait to return to K&R Restaurant and savor their culinary...
