McDonald's — Restaurant in Wilmington

On August 22, 2020, i visited the McDonald's located on Concord Pike here in Delaware I spent $47.94. Now I only stopped because I had heard so many great stories about how everything is always hot and fresh. Sooo being I am a mother of 3 and my oldest son's fiancee is pregnant and always craving McDonald's, I decide to stop. Now mind you I live within the city. For those that know about wilmington I live on the Westside, top of the hill. So I place my order, now I purchase their new Chicken Bundle Box include is 4 med fries, 4 Mc Chicken's and a 20 piece nugget. I always purchase a Double Quarter Pounder Meal add bacon, no pickles, no onions, no ketchup, no mustard, add mac sauce and lettuce with fries and a sweet tea. Mind you I have to pay for these things to be added to my sandwich. I then order a Crispy Chicken sandwich meal, large with a Chocolate shake and last an Oreo mcflurry. Being that I am a McDonald's Fry lover I always eat my fries immediately. After waiting 45 minutes I check bags make sure all food is in there and I proceed home. As I place myhand into my bag of fries I get a bag of 6 medium size fries all room temperature and soggy. Immediately I'm now turned off feom wanting fries and highly disappointed once again with McDonald's. With hope in my heart I let that one go. I get home and hand out the food to all my children as I come to my sandwich what do I get but a Double Quarter Pounder that is dry and bare. I will upload a pic, there is no bacon, no mac sauce, no lettuce, they could have even put the norm but nope nothing. Im washing my hands with McDonald's...

Hellish. Short version: we ordered at the kiosk, chose dine-in, waited 25 minutes for our food, several items were missing, no ketchup, straws or napkins. A few more items came out and then after 10 min I had to go up and get someone's attention to point out that we were still missing a burger... They went and found it sitting there waiting. The whole seating area was full of people waiting for their orders.

More reflection... This is a newly rebuilt McD's so I figured it would be in good shape and service would be at the top of their game. It seems they have given up on customer service. For all the 25 min that I was waiting for food, we only occasionally saw someone working there pass through the seating area. They weren't focused on people in the seating area, the workers were just ferrying food from the back straight out to people waiting in their cars. Occasionally someone put a takeout order on the counter. There is only one register, and no menu on the wall. They don't seem to anticipate any human interactions at the counter. They don't seem to care about cleaning up the seating area. Getting someone's attention when you needed something required a lot of effort. They have been shrinking the seating area and the counter area at McD's over the past few years, so it seems like they are trying to reduce the dine-in service and the customer interactions. I never really liked McDonald's, but it has become more and more unpleasant lately. Today was the worst.

Last visit to this location, a Friday night, the food was old, like it had been sitting there all day. Found this to be odd considering how busy it was. Also it should be noted that we didn't order any gourmet-type sandwiches or anything unusual. It was a 20 pc. nugget, a cheeseburger and fries. What was supposed to be a special treat for my family and I, ended up being a total disaster and waste of money. My son got got sick immediately after consuming his part of the meal and I ended up having to throw away my part after seeing him become ill. I contacted the restaurant right after this happened to speak to a manager but the phone just rang and rang with no answer. I only wanted to make them aware of this situation and stop from serving the same food we were served. I reached out to corporate via email and received a call from the store's manager so they did take measures to contact me back, I will give them that. I only wish there was another way I could've warned them and kept them from serving the bad food to other customers. Needless to say though, my family will never eat at this...
