I’ve tried this place a few times, and their oversalted, overpriced, and underdelivered Lobster Mac’n’Cheese plate was the last straw and time I’ll eat here.
First, the place is clean and the staff can be friendly when They want to. A second visit I made didn’t turn out to be a great experience because the place was packed, and the hostess wanted to argue with me about sitting in the dining room. I’m a longtime recovering alcohol, and for some reason, if you walk into there by yourself, they will default your seat at the bar. I simply turned around and left,
Now, one would think being packed full of customers is a great problem to have, but the truth is this place doesn’t open until 3:30pm. That’s a true waste of space for the shopping center, but it’s known the Pointe shopping center cares more about money and less about customer experience.
That said, my third visit was during a dead period. Again, the place was clean, the staff was friendly, and the $5 House margarita was very good. The problem came when they boasted the $22 Lobster Mac’n’Cheese. But I became very skeptical when it literally took less than 5 minutes to prepare it when ordered. When the plate came out there was barely any lobster on it at all. When I asked the waitress if this was all the lobster they gave for $22 she said there was more mixed in the cheese sauce. There was not any lobster mixed in the cheese sauce. But that didn’t matter because what little lobster there was was saltier than hell and texture felt like imitation or very old and reheated. Bottom line DO NOT get the Lobster Mac’n’Cheese plate — I felt robbed and salted — instead, go for the BBQ Pork Mac’n’Cheese plate. This comes with way more meat, and plus it’s cheaper.
Overall, this place has potential, but right now it’s pretty disappointing. I do not see this restaurant lasting long unless they start paying attention when their newness...
Read moreBeen here twice. We had the club- so full of ham and turkey I couldn't even get my mouth around it; the trash can nachos- huge portion (3 people ate it!) lots of tasty pulled pork and goodies, but a tad sweet for my taste; Tuna Poke bowl- got it both visits it was so good, lots of fresh tasty tuna & avocado, crispy wontons were just a tad greasy 2nd time but still good; Wagyu meatloaf- got it twice also, huge slab of tender meatloaf on tasty mashed taters with lots of cripsy onion tangles on top; salmon was very good; teriyaki wings were plump and flavorful. Portions are generous, food is delicious, and presentation is attractive. And the drinks... rum flight (4 different rum concoctions), coconut margaritas, sparkling galaxy cosmo, refreshing peaches and cream mule, finished off with a vodka hazelnut shot that rocked my tastebuds. The presentation is very cool. It was very busy on 2nd visit so we ate at the bar and enjoyed watching the creative process. Already have my food and drink picked for...
Read moreI have to be honest, I have never written review for a restaurant. For starters, the brussel sprout appetizer was practically raw and the ends were not trimmed. We reluctantly sent them back. I typically will not send things back to the kitchen before my food comes out for obvious reasons. The Buffalo mac and cheese came out next and there was no cheese except in one small corner of it and the rest was dry macaroni shells. My wife's Ruben looked like it was made out of beef jerky and there was no thousand Island dressing. The waitress kindly offered to swap out the appetizer and I ordered the mozzarella fritters so that I could use the cheese to put in my mac and cheese. After seeing the terrible meal the waitress offered to take off 25% which I declined because I'm not that type of person. I feel like the best response is to not go back and warn others. I saw many good reviews and can only assume that these people are tongue blind..covid maybe?...
