I've been living right down the street from this place for years, and have always wanted to stop in, but have never had the opportunity to, because they are closed on the weekends, and close at 3pm during the week, and unfortunately I'm usually out of the area at work. Well today, I finally had the opportunity to check it out. Off on a Friday, driving around the neighborhood initially with the Bagelsmith on my mind, I was passing Betty's and saw a guy walking out with the biggest smile and happy looking belly, and an immediate u-turn ensued. The fate of my hunger destiny was sealed. I was checking out Betty's, and nothing was stopping me. When I got there, I saw the reviews were true. It's like if your grandparents cooked really well, and bought a little hole in the wall grill spot behind their house when they retired, and just did everything themselves to retain the old-school charm and ethics, that's this place. If you don't have grandparents anymore, you'll feel like you do when you're here. That's truly something special. Now, to the important part, the food. I was starving, and since it was morning for me, I ordered a BEC with SPK on a roll. Betty asked how I wanted my eggs, I went with over easy, but they will do scrambled on a sammich too. They make it on a Portuguese roll which was soft, fluffy, and fresh. I think the best part was the bacon. Good quality bacon, cooked crispy just how I like it. The sandwich was basically amazing in every way. Absolutely fantastic. Prices on breakfast sandwiches here are reasonably priced too compared to the rest of the area. Comparable price to a sizzly at Wawa, but a hundred times better. So far, I can absolutely recommend this place. I hope to try other things from this place soon, and you...
Read moreThe prices on the menu are not correct, at least the breakfast prices aren't. We both got the "breakfast platter", 1st of all for the price on the menu ($6.50) they could have used actual sausage, not shelf stable "brown and serve" junk! While we were trying to order we kept getting interrupted by the incoming phone calls. There wasn't any other customers there, nor was the man cooking anything, he couldn't have answered the phone so the 2 of us could order our food? Then when it came time to pay, our $6.50 per person platter totalled $17.94?!?! No, we did not order anything extra, just a cup of coffee and a platter each. The woman rang up on the register, the money was already in hand, but yet she grabbed 2 hoagie rolls without gloves and sliced them. Took the money for our bill and went back to working with food without washing her hands...Am I missing something here? Had I realized how much the total was prior to pulling away, I would have went back in and questioned it. So here I am doing the next best thing. They both were extremely nice and pleasant though, so there's a plus. We chose this place specifically because of the great reviews, and we rarely go out to eat so it's not like we're "snobs" to food service. I know we...
Read morePosting tonight about the Buffalo Chicken Salad I had for lunch from Betty’s Luncheon in Easton. The owners were very friendly and I love the charm of a little spot like this being run by family. The food was cheap and luckily it was a little slow for that lunch so we all got to sit comfortably.
There was a good amount of Buffalo chicken in the salad and the vegetables were very fresh. The woman making the salad and everyone’s sandwiches was literally cutting the tomatoes and cucumbers to order. I chose to get blue cheese over ranch (grow up, nothing wrong with blue cheese) and grabbed a Snapple. Perfectly happy with my choice but just for sake of trying new things I’d probably grab something else next time.
All in all I’d say that Betty’s Luncheon -...
