I did rate this place 5 stars, but reluctantly had to change it to 1 star.
This is based on several visits to the establishment.
I will give you a couple of examples...
The bartenders that have served me seem to have little to no previous experience. The service deteriorated from when I first started going there.
I was trying to get $100 out of the ATM. It gave me $40 and then stopped, but charged my bank account the whole $100, plus the service fee. I immediately went to the bartender and told them what happened. I also showed them the screen on the ATM.
The bartender said that they couldn't do anything and to talk to the owner the next day. The bartender declined to take my name and information, or at least, leave the owner a note.
I came back a couple of times, but every time I went he was not there. So, I tried calling. After a couple of times I finally got a hold of him.
He told me that he knew nothing about it and acted like I was trying to rip him off. He was slurring his words and I had the impression, although I don't know the gentleman, that he was intoxicated. When I insisted that he meet me that night, so we could talk to the bartender who was working at the time I lost the money.
He then told me that he was not going to meet me anywhere and not to come in...
Read moreOn 08/17/2019 around 5:00 pm me and a friend was walking to Palm Market. I went in to Barley Pops and asked the bartender could I please sit down for a couple of minutes to cool down. Due to my medical condition and it was about 105 out and I get dizzy and winded easy. She told me no and that I had to leave. So I told her thank you anyway and I left the bar. Don't people know on those really hot days a little kindness and a glass of water could save a persons life. I'm 58 years old, I use a cane to walk with, and I lived in Las Vegas my entire life. Barley Pops was the first bar I've been in that didn't care about the health of a person because that person didn't buy a drink or play video poker. I do remember back in the day it be really hot outside and a person walked into any bar and asked for a glass of water. The bartender would give that person a glass full of ice and water. And had no problem refilling the glass if you want more. I really hope that bartender and the owners of Barley Pops never find themselves walking outside hot and thirsty. Go into a bar to try and cool down for only a minute or two. Just to be told ether buy a drink or they have to leave. ...
Read moreVery unattentive bartenders. I think one's name was carmella and the other brittany(sorry if i misspelled that). They stood on the other side of the bar talking to their friends or each other or looking at their phones while i was on the other and very, very rarely checked on me. They didnt even see my beer was finished until 10 minutes had passed (yes i counted), that's how little attention they paid. One of them even admitted that she usually does nothing and leaves the work to the other girl. After a smoke i decided to leave. I had to walk to the other side of the bar to get their attention. Even if i wanted a 2nd drink i would have never been able to tell them unless i yelled to them from my seat, which i wasnt going to do.
The reason Im leaving 2 stars instead of 1 is because 1) I know they can do better. 2) I love their beer specials 3) The food is very good. If i do decide to come back it will have to be on brandon or chelsea's shift (they're amazing) or a different bartender's night shift. For now Im avoiding...
