Captain D's — Restaurant in Winchester

I had to give 1 star just to be able to write a review. But let the truth be known it was far below any Captain D's experience I have had. My wife and I went there for lunch before I left for 3 month for work. We went inside to eat and the restaurant was clean and the front counter staff was friendly. We order and sat down and waited for our food. It came out very fast and looked great. Well I took the first bite of fish and instantly spit it into a napkins. I told my wife it was not cooked all the way. I split open the two pieces of fish I got and they were half cooked some of the meat felt like tuna salad. My wife's was the same way. She took the two dinners back to the counter and voiced her concern a older lady came from the back and rudely told my wife the fish is cooked on a time it was cooked. They didn't offer to remake our order. My wife came back to the table and told me what was said to her. I said I am not eating the fish. So my went back to the front counter and asked for the customer service number then they offered us a refund. We took the refund and then took our business elsewhere. To not listen to a customer about there concerns, about a food they purchased from your restaurant is very unprofessional and to serve raw food to anyone is careless and not exceptional. What happened to this place? The food actually used to be pretty good and now it's horrible, the hush puppies aren't in anyway the same ones they used to serve, they seem to be just fried mush they slaped together. The fries were microwaved and the coleslaw seem more like cabbage stew with a slight sour taste. Maybe the restaurant has been like this a while, it's been years since I'd ate there but it was always pretty good. My opinion is the prices are extremely high for what it is, I would suggest if your in the mood for this type of food then drive to the Mount Sterling location or Lexington location. I always thought Long Johns was better anyway and the Mount Sterling location has pretty good food(as fast food goes). The service was also horrible, the workers were extremely rude, the drive through was so backed up I just walked in to order. I can at let say everything looked clean, overall my experience was bad. I absolutely do NOT recommend this restaurant. Since covid started this restaurant has rapidly declined. The quality of their food has suffered. I have complained many, many times hoping things would change. However it would seem they aren't worried about satisfying their customers because the food is still low quality. We went there last night and my fries were undercooked. This is actually a normal occurrence their fries are never crispy like other Captain D's restaurants I've been to. The okra was soggy and undercooked. I don't even know what happened to my fish. What they gave me was not the normal pieces of fish they serve. Instead it was like fish nuggets that were so overcooked they weren't even edible. Their drive thru is extremely slow and by the time we get our food some meals are hot while others are barely warm.
