Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Winchester

I stopped in Golden Corral for dinner. This location was not quite the level it once was. For the money, this is not a bad option. Here is my experience at Golden Corral.

This place is very crowded, cramped. and loud. The tables are very close together, and you will have others pass by you for the entire meal. The floor will never be able to be cleaned due to this being a high traffic restaurant.

There is lot of drink options here. Most every one should be able to find a good beverage here.

The salad bar had a lot of toppings and different dressings to choose from. This section is pretty good, and should please almost anyone. Take you time before loading your plate.

The beef quality has took a dive lately. Most slices of beef have gristle and hard fat to cut around. Given the price of beef today, this may be the only option in this price range. There is other meat choices here. I recommend getting a small sampling of the items to see which ones you like the best. The same can be said for the sides. You can try a lot of different kinds of food here, so be patient.

The dessert choices are great. Kids will be happy here. The ice cream choices and combinations plus the peanut butter cookies are the real winners here! Save room for dessert!

The wait staff was polite. I didn't have to wait very long at all for a drink refill. My table was cleaned off in a timely manner. Given the shear amount of guests that they serve, the wait staff does a good job.

Now this is where Golden Corral loses stars! The infamous men's bathroom is still filthy and needs major attention. One urinal was blocked off. One urinal and commode was all that was available! The floor is so slick that you can actually skate on it! Go back and read other reviews regarding the men's bathroom. It has become a running joke at this point!

Parts of the dining room can get rather hot. If you have heat issues, then make sure to find a comfortable area, before sitting at a table.

I still give this Golden Corral a recommendation, if you are a fan of buffet style restaurants or want the most food...

UPDATE: Five years later 5/20/25. Wow, I wouldn't have thought it could have gotten worse but it did. I'm not sure who's running this Golden Corral but the food was at luke warm temperatures, baked chicken & Carnitas was old and dry, baked fish was flavorless, fried fish was ok but cold, I tried the cottage cheese and pepperoni, tasted on the verge of spoiling, fruit was good. Notice another table with customers get up to leave as they put their little fuzzy dog on the table before walking out. Gross. Waitress finally showed up as we were getting up to leave. We told her about the dog and she said she didn't see it and turned and walked away. Don't know where manager was this day at 5:30 pm but apparently not taking care of this restaurant. Price for 2 today $36. Tipped only $3 since the waitress at least showed up at the end. ORIGINAL REVIEW $19.06 for one meal plus beverage was slightly high for an average dinner. 4 person dinner party. Had to wait for the yeast rolls, vegetables were bland, fried chicken and salad was good, fruit and cottage cheese were tasteless, carrot cake was ok, strawberries very flavorable, service was fine. Had to ask for refills, placed our dirty plates on the next table. All and all, I wasn't impressed for the price. Total spent for 4 people...

The price of the meal was reasonable considering it's an all you can eat. When we went to the salad bar all the items there was full fresh and colorful. The topping were fresh as was the dressing, and the whole area was very clean. The seating area where we sat was well maintain by a young lady named Angie. When my wife and I first sat down she came over introduced herself as our waitress and stated if we needed anything just let her know. She was very polite and professional with every encounter we had with her I would recommend her for a raise if it would help. When we went for our main meal we found everything we were looking for plentiful and fresh. The employees working the food bars was helpful with what ever we needed The food was well prepared hot and delicious. The food bar was also kept clean from any messes or spills very good job. I would recommend this Golden Corral Buffet to all my friends and family without hesitation or reservations by far one of the best I've been in for a long time.
