Worst Mexican food I have ever experienced. Not merely bad, but terrible! Mexican food is my favorite and I have had great Mexican cuisine all over the country, from fine restaurants to street stands. I ordered a 3 item combination, taco, enchilada and chili relleno. I don't know how you can ruin a taco and enchilada but they did it beyond belief. Enchilada was barely warm, with dry flavorless ground beef, The enchilada sauce was non-existent and what little there was had no flavor, and it had no cheese inside The taco was a mess, piled in ingredients, mushy, and on a stale shell, very bad. The chili relleno I received at fist was truly horrible, filled with a fake cheese product like sauce, cheeze whiz, not real cheese, gloppy and sickeneing, and oozed everywhere. My relleno was also barely warm on the edges, but cold inside. The chile was old, tough and hard to cut through. When I told them the relleno was cold and inedible, they brought another one, but had microwaved it to mush and it was truly a mess and icky. All the cheese sauce they used was grossly melting everywhere. Worst food ever, I could not eat this relleno. The little I ate at first made me feel ill. I was also overcharged for a different combo, and when I complained about the food and told them it was inedible they simply apologized and then charged me full price. I do not understand the positive reviews here, as this is not my experience. I can't even give this place one star, more like a negative star. Awful...
Read moreFirst Mexican restaurant I have had since I moved here a couple of months ago. Always been very partial to El Nopal but this place takes it to a different level. Ordered online, gave them an hour advance and they had just finished putting the order together when I arrived. You usually expect bags to carry your food but they were kind enough to put ours in a box and cover it with foil because of the rain. The staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful.
Now, for the food. I wish I had pictures but the aroma from the food was just too much to bare. It smelled... incredible! The salsa provided was great, as it's fresh made; as well as the guacamole. I am a HUGE stickler on guacamole, as not all are created equal. The flavor was perfect, as was the texture... smoother than butter!. Everything tasted amazing. Our steak and chicken meals... were so tender and juicy. The vegetables were fresh and grilled to perfection. And, their queso wasn't super runny like you get from most restaurants. It was thick, creamy, and rich.
All in all, it was a great experience to have cuisine that had that complete freshness of ingredients. You can taste it with every bite and that's what will always have me coming back! I would also like to add that the portions are certainly worth what you pay for. So don't fret and worry about it. It's...
Read moreI was severely disappointed. For an authentic Mexican restaurant as advertised I expected the food to be full of flavor. The chips and salsa were the best part. I got two enchiladas and a taco. Normally enchiladas at other Mexican restaurants are the size of the entire plate, that was not the case for this one. Mine were really small. I got one chicken and one beef. The chicken had no flavor and the beef tasted like a cheese burger. Nothing tasted fresh. It all tasted frozen and the refried beans had to have come out of a can. We ended up getting guacamole. I also thought it would be homemade but it tasted exactly like the individual packs at Walmart.
The service was lacking. Our waiter was more concerned about cleaning and closing than checking in on our table. We did not get greeted at all or welcomed. He didn’t even ask what we wanted in the taco or enchiladas. I had to make sure to tell him. My friend who ordered tacos didn’t even get asked if she wanted hard shell or soft and what kind of meat inside. There was no smile or hurry to wait on our table. It was not busy...
