I love to try the mom and pop places in the local area. This place def fit the bill. It was cute, seemed that everyone knew everyone, and it was quaint. My husband referred me to this place, so it def had to be good. Everything was fine until a few minutes after we put in our order. The power cut out. The employees were scrambling to see what happened while we sat and waited for someone to tell us what's going on. No one seemed to want to inform the customers, so I walked up to the front and asked about it to see if we should just go somewhere else. The transformer had blown, but to our luck, our food was ready right beforehand. The waitress was walking around the corner as I was talking to the front. "Your food is ready as long as you don't mind eating in the dark", our waitress said. As we're eating, we over hear the other table say they only had a credit card to pay. They were told by the staff that there was an ATM next door that they could use. We were pretty baffled by this response. My friends order was wrong, but there was no fixing it cuz they didn't have any power. Also, my son had since made a dirty diaper...but I couldn't change it in the bathroom with no lights. The waitress came by once to see how we were doing, my response was "okay, I guess". (What were we going to say??) At this point, things weren't sitting well with me anymore...this customer service was very poor in a situation like this. The waitress came back with the bill, I didn't want to look at it until I spoke with a manager. Luckily, the waitress was the manager. I told her about my friends order, eating in the dark, and I needed to change my son's diaper but couldn't. Everything was super inconvenient for us. Her response about changing his diaper was, "don't you have a flashlight on your cell phone?" I, then, decided not to pay for anything. After saying it's "not our fault that the power went out", she said the bill was taken care of. I regret not asking her if it was the customers fault, because that's how the staff had reacted. I left $5 on the table and happily scrambled out of there. I've been in customer service most of my life, and never had an experience like this. I will not be back, nor will I recommend anyone to come here. Its a shame too, because I love...
Read moreThe rating above is the rating I would give my recent experience. Over the years, Papermill has been my go to place for a tasty and great priced meal. I have always been treated with nothing but great service up until I came in on Saturday. When the group of people I was with sat down the server greeted us with a miserable face and a gross attitude. When she asked us what we wanted to drink, we had explained we would like to get an orange juice if it did not contain pulp. She rolled her eyes and looked at us like we were dumb and said "Uhm, no why would we have pulp?" We explained that the last time we were here there was pulp in our orange juice and we ended up getting a different drink because there was a significant amount of it in there. She tried to tell us that what we were saying was impossible. Which, honestly didn't matter as we know what happened, all we wanted was to know was if we were going to get orange juice with pulp in it TODAY. The group I was with was disappointed with the customer service but decided to ignore it and hope maybe it got better. Unfortunately, it got worse. As she took our orders, and had any communication with us there was nothing but this disgusted look on her face and utter annoyance when we would even respond to a thing she said. I was very disappointed not only with the way we were treated, but also very disappointed that a place that I had loved and recommended for everyone over the years would hire a person like this. Which makes me question even going there again. I understand everyone has there bad days but this was not a bad day, it was apparent this person hated dealing with customers. Our food was not prepared very appealing either and did not have its usual great taste which made this breakfast experience even worse. I have never felt uncomfortable or unwilling to give someone a tip in my life but at this time was presented with that feeling for...
Read moreLove the food, but how staff treats customers veries widely! Yesterday on a Fri night, couldn't have asked for better service: Today, Sat afternoon, have never been so insulted by the cashier ("cashierc" on my receipt), who directed me to have a seat and place my to go order when I placed my in-house order; my waitress told me to go back to the cashier to place my to-go order; when I try to do so the cashier started to get snippy and tell me "well you're not going to stand here and eat your chili while you're waiting for your to-go order are you?" I then explained that the waitress told me to come to her to place a to-go order and she said "well I'll get the straightened out and sent the waitress back to me to get my to-go order" The waitress came back to get my to-go order sighing heavily while I was trying to give her my order, like I was taking too much of her time ( I already had the order pretty much figured out before she ever came to me, so I know I wasn't taking that long)- I then realized that she didn't ask me how I wanted my sandwiches made, so I made the mistake of returning to the cashier to clear the order with her; I asked her what usually comes on the sandwich she told me grilled onions lettuce tomato mayonnaise when I started to tell her how I wanted it made she actually said that I was making it more complicated then it actually was: I replied that I wasn't trying to do that! Finally when I was leaving the cashier said to me that she was sorry about the confusion but it was probably because the waitress was overwhelmed by such a large takeout order( the waiteess didn't even start to take my order and had already directed me to the cashier!) Overall I don't think I've ever been treated so rudely by restaurant staff! The food is great but I don't think that it's worth putting...
