Update: I spoke with Hannah, a manager. I explained the situation. She apologized and assured me that the associate will be reminded to check about dresses BEFORE she charges a client. Now I just have to wait for the refund. I will update. I took my daughter here to find the perfect homecoming dress. She had picked out this store and was so excited for her first boutique shopping experience. She even booked her own appointment! We were immediately greeted by a lovely mature lady. She was so nice. My daughter found several dresses that she liked. The lady took us to a private room where my daughter could try on the dresses. She found one that she loved. We decided to purchase the dress. A younger blonde woman checked us out. She rang up the dress and told me it was ready for payment. I paid with my card. After I had paid, this younger woman proceeded to tell us that she’s sorry but she can’t sell us this dress since someone else from my daughter’s school had purchased the same one. This wouldn’t have been an issue except I had already paid for the dress. My daughter overheard this so she immediately became sad and distressed. Now she suddenly can’t have her dream dress. I told my daughter it was ok and to see if she couldn’t find something else that maybe was better. I asked the girl about a refund and told her to wait to see what we found. The girl called the main manager/owner ? on the phone. I had wanted to wait to see what my daughter found before they refunded the transaction. My daughter found a couple of other dresses to try on. The mature lady was helping us and apologizing for the incident. My daughter tried on the dresses and decided she really likes one. We go out to the register. The younger woman tells me my card has been refunded but it’s going to take “several days” for the refund to clear. This is an issue for me. I’m a single mom and had budgeted $150.00 for this dress. Now keep in mind that the first charge was around $128.00. I was now in a position where my daughter found another dress which was below a hundred but when you deduct what I had been charged it didn’t leave me with much. I wound up using credit to be able to buy my daughter’s dress. The mature lady did give us a discount for our issues. She was a really nice and professional sales associate. I was NOT impressed with the younger woman. She should have checked that the dress wasn’t restricted BEFORE she sold it to me and charged me. Then she should have waited before she did the refund to see what the difference between the two charges was. This is especially true considering I was clearly using a card and she should have known the refund wouldn’t be immediate. She caused unnecessary stress by not doing her job properly. The mature lady made the shopping experience good because if it had been the other one I would not be leaving four stars nor recommending this store. We went to this boutique after being referred by a young lady that goes to school with my daughter who also works there! Our experience during the dress search and trying process was great! The manager as well as the gal that referred us definitely went way above and beyond. The dress my daughter fell in love with had some stains on it, we inquired about ordering a new one but given the timeframe we needed it, it was going to double the cost of the dress, not an alternative we were thrilled with! The manager tried to clean the spots on the dress and even mentioned the option of a discount of the spots did not come out! We left cc info with the shop and took the dress to an alteration shop to ensure alterations could all be done in time. Since the alterations could in fact get done in the timeframe we had, I called and the payment in full ($221)was processed over the phone. The spots on the dress were still damp at the time so I didn’t request a discount at that point. At my daughters final fitting, ms lee pointed out the stains were still there! I contacted the shop to see if they would offer any kind of discount given the dress was stained! The manager advised she would have to contact the “owner” to see if she’d be willing. I sent photos where the stain is visible instead of going into the shop with the dress as we had already left for FL where my daughter is attending prom! I got a call back from the manager stating the owner is not willing to offer any type of refund but would offer the advice to MACHINE WASH the dress….this blew me away! Even a professional cleaner advised against even hand washing it!
Oh and then she also offered a $20 store credit! Really?!? No thx, definitely won’t be shopping there...
Read moreOn January 21, 2023, I had my bridal appointment at She Said Yes Bridal Boutique. Walking in there with my Maid of Honor, Ashley, one of my bridesmaid, Nicole, and my grandmother, I was excited about this next step in planning our special day! My consultant, Hannah, was PHENOMENAL! After trying on a few dresses, I was discouraged a little bit but me telling Hannah my style and what I wanted, she went out and found my dress! She was amazing with joking and making everyone laugh and feel comfortable but also multitasking to fill my needs and wants during my appointment. When I tried on my dress, I walked out and it wasn’t buttoned all the way which she helped with, in that moment, Hannah, my best friend, her sister, and my grandmother all knew I had found “the one.” I didn’t even think the feeling was real but let me tell you, it is! I didn’t want to take it off and it was the only dress I tried on more than once. Hannah was able to set up where I could make payments on my dress which was a major help! The other day, I walked in hoping to see her but she had a day off and I seen Madison who I cheered with in high school and asked her if I could just look at my dress and she was so excited for me and could also see my face glowing. During that visit, I met the owner Nan who has agreed to marry my fiancée and I which is a blessing! Today, I took my seven year old son in the boutique and tried on my dress. Walking out of the fitting room, my son walked up to me and hugged me and said I looked beautiful which made myself feel even more confident about this dress. Nan, Hannah, and Terry who does alterations there all said my dress looked absolutely gorgeous and that it suited me. Trying it on again for the fourth time was like trying it on for the first time. I absolutely adore these AMAZING women and love them...
