Mood - Garlic Rice
We all have our loves of food. Those things that when you hear it on the menu your heart jumps and may skip a beat. Well that is me and Oming's. Goodness
Upon entering was quickly greeted and asked if there were any questions. I had none as I've entertained the food truck and of course the other location on Blue Diamond. You order at the counter, pay, and the food is brought out to you.
Opted for the Adobo Happy Plate Style, Longanisa, Taro Boba, Watermelon Boba, and of course a side of that Garlic Rice. Now everything was wonderfully made. But that extra oh my gosh was Oming herself coming out and redoing my rice the " upgraded" way. Can I say "uhm secret menu style". Goodness it was fabulous. I took it home. And I ate it slowly all night long.
Interior is several seating arrangements along with a long booth back and accommodating tables. Everything was very clean. And the music in the background was very karaoke worthy.
Would most def recommend. Pricing is reasonable, plus for the quality and presentation you can't beat that. Everything is made to order. Customer Service is...
Read moreSpouse and I stopped in here for the first time yesterday, out of curiosity. The first thing I noticed was the bright, welcoming atmosphere, with clear direction toward the ordering counter and from the counter into the dining area - no chaotic layout here! The counter guy was friendly and helpful. We ordered the chicken sinugba combo (comes with rice and lumpia) with a fried egg, and the chicken sinugba happy combo (comes with rice, pancit, and lumpia), and added a Thai tea boba and matcha boba, to go.
Wait time for our order was reasonable, no complaints - especially when I can just chill in their very clean dining area and peruse the pictures pertaining to their business that they have on the walls. (It's clear they're very proud of the business they've built, as they should be.)
Once we got home and tried the food, oh man were we in heaven. Everything tasted SO GOOD, and portions were generous - I ended up getting two meals out of my one happy combo. We can't stop thinking about the outstanding flavor on that chicken, and are already planning on going back for more....
Read moreIt was just okay. The lady at the register was really nice and offered suggestions. Decided to go with the sisig and upgraded to pancit plus lumpia.
The picture on the menu made the lumpia look decently sized (yes, lumpia Shanghai are traditionally smaller compared to other Asian egg rolls, but these were much stubbier and smaller than what they advertised on the picture of their menu and other Filipino spots I’ve been to). For nearly $20, I was expecting a decent amount of food but was sorely disappointed when I saw the half-size box. For the premium cost, I thought there would be more pancit—and they could have added a bit more rice to enjoy with the sisig.
The pancit was standard but I found the sisig to be much greasier than I typically eat. It had a good tartness but needed a smidge more spice to balance the flavors.
Overall, I thought the customer service was fine but the food lacked a well-rounded flavor profile. And the amount of food for the cost left me rather...
