The service was perfectly friendly (although seemed to lack experience). Our food was fine, but also not exactly what we had requested. As a vegan, I had plenty of options, but I think a bit more care is required when ordering from here to be sure that what you receive is vegan. I will say that their eggplant is delicious, which was a small percentage of a vegetable dish I ordered. We also ordered the Mapo Tofu, which was a little more watery than I am used to.
Ordering from the dinner menu is around $12 per entree. It includes a small salad, but no rice. I needed to order that separately (which is typical of China, where you order dishes and share them family style). Ordering from the lunch menu is a little cheaper and has smaller portions, but includes a small portion of rice. If you've never visited this restaurant before and are trying to get a sense of the food, I would recommend ordering from the lunch menu if it's available.
I was dining with family who opted to enjoy the Dim Sum menu, which is available on Saturdays. This is a pretty fun option worth trying. Dim sum is sold as small plates with usually 3 or so of the same item on a plate. It's great for sharing with small groups. I'd recommend 1-2 dim sum orders per person. It would be a great option for groups of 3 or 4, so you can try a lot of different flavors. Most dim sum is $4-$6 per plate. There were one or two vegan options (definitely those deep fried sesame balls filled with sweet red bean paste), but I can't remember if there was anything else for vegans on the dim sum menu. And if you have no idea what I'm talking about, try them once. They're really common in China at buffets -- and I presume at dim sum places :)
Bottom line: Worth trying, but wasn't mind-blowing. I might go back to see if I just had a meh one-time experience. I would definitely go back to try the vegan...
Read moreThis used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant, but after the service I received tonight, I will never return. I ordered $58.00 worth of food, drove 12 mins from my house to pick up ( from north Santa Rosa), received order and traveled home. I then discovered they had forgotten part of my meal. I called to inform and was told to return and they would make it and give to me. I asked if they could deliver the missing food order to my house, so I could enjoy eating the hot food that I had just picked up. I was told that I was too far from them to drive to (even though I made the trip to support their business). I reminded them that they screwed up the order and should make it right by delivering, but they said no. I then said, "Well, if you aren't going to deliver my missing food, will I be compensated or can I be reimbursed for the missing food?" I was told my 2 options are come back to the restaurant for either a refund on my missing order or I could come back and pick up the order they forgot. Needless to say, I drove all the way back, picked up my missing order, returned home and ate my cold meal. I would have been satisfied with a courteous delivery of missing food or no charge for the forgotten food, a buy one get one coupon for the future, or gifted an extra meal for my inconvenience, lost fuel and cold dinner. I received none of the above. I realize restaurants are suffering during this pandemic, but so is the customer. I will be looking for a new Chinese restaurant that appreciates...
Read moreI am not sure how this is considered a foodie favorite! This place is unique I guess in that it is not traditional authentic Chinese or American Chinese. It is like some kind of fusion between health food and Chinese that when horribly wrong. My wife and I are here and did not like it at all. It was literally the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. We did not even finish our meals we just paid the bill and got to go boxes for the dogs. One of our dogs even refused to eat it. Which makes me wonder what they put in it? I really have been impressed with restaurants in the Windsor California area. This one is so disappointing that I wish that it would get closed down and moved somewhere else as to not spoil the good name and reputation of my beloved Windsor Town Green! It is also important to note that while my specific waitress was very polite and had good hospitality the owners here rude to the waitress and not inviting towards the guests. I would not go here again even if the meal...
