Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

Sometimes the chicken is burnt and sometimes its not cooked done enough. Thevfries are also not crispy enough to eat either. Thevteavid really sugared down and doesnt have that tea taste, you really taste morebof the sugar. Then lets not talj about the customer service experience. The customer service is hood sometimes and bad to. Especially withvtwo of the lady cashiers that always seem to have a bad attitude already before their work day has begun. Then it seems like they pick and chose who to be kind and courteous to and which customer to be rude and nonchalant. It had been a long time since i ate there because of the quality of the food and the customer service issues. Its a shsme that i have to peep through the windoe to see if the two really wonderful cashiers are working before i enter the restaurant. That also includes who is cooking the chicken or fish. The fish was horrible thst i got teo weeks ago. It was not cooked well and it seemed to be old ,my stomach immediately started to hurt after eating it and i had indigestion really bad. I ended up having to take something to get thatbfish out of my stomach,which stayed messed up for about 3 to 4 days. The fish started off being really good in the beginning, but here lately its been horrible. The only real time the food and service is great is when these two wonderful women are working and the District Manager is there helping them to fry the chicken and fish correctly. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever experienced at any churches chicken. I ordered a dinner with five pieces of chicken they gave me five packs of hot sauce I asked from White and they’re saying they have a shortage and they will not be able to give me any. I had two separate orders they messed up my first order and I end up having to cancel it. I ordered chicken wings they told me it will be a 30 minute wait and I end up getting my cheek in five minutes later and it was freezing cold. They didn’t have half of gallon bags so they shut off me for large drinks. My options were lemon a fruit punch or tea they didn’t have tea so I had to choose to seeing lemon a fruit punch. The line was wrapped outside of the door and they had a horrible customer service. It was one lady in there trying to do everything and she couldn’t she was the only good worker in there. This one man came in on his shift he didn’t wash his hands or anything and poured tea in a container and once I was leaving. This churches needs to be shut down or whole new staff. I was not please by my visit. And then I got back to work and I looked in my food and none of my thoughts were there so I just have...

Update: 7/27/23 I stopped here for the 1st time in almost a year. I must admit the older lady running things inside is on point! The place was cleaner than I've ever seen before and the food was hot and delicious. I knew I was at a different establishment by the way I was greeted when I walked in. Greeting people and serving people with a smile is how you earn repeat business. Although there is still some unsavory people walking by and it isn't the most popular neighborhood in Winston-Salem this Church's Chicken has come a long way. The last time I was here you had beggars outside and the place was filthy. I told myself if it was that way this time I would keep going. Was I shocked! Hats off to management and I hope they continue to turn things around. If you are looking for some hot greasy chicken stop on by you will not be disappointed and the biscuits were fire! The food is always hot and delicious, I just hate that every time I go there someone is asking or bumming for money. Other than that I make it a point to stop and get some good ole chicken and hot honey...
