Me and my friend purchased individual K-dogs and a pack of spicy honey-soy-garlic bites. The k-dogs were phenomenal. They're battered nicely, had a light dusting of sugar to add a nice sweet pop, and the spicy and sweet mayos are incredibly good. I personally preferred the mozzarella filling more than anything else. These are a slam dunk, and any issues you may have will likely come from an operator error, rather than them being bad as a general rule. Definitely try!
The chicken, however... well, we ended up not eating it until later when we could dip it in something. The sauce is lacking- I've had incredible honey soy garlic chicken before from restaurants and even made it myself- this one though was only really salty and garlicky, with very little to no sweet to round the whole flavor out. I'd just not get this one, go with a different flavor. It was really just not good. My next complaint is more complicated. I'm almost sure they do not serve shrimp or fish out of this store- I don't remember seeing it on the menu at the least. But the batter of the chicken, and sometimes even the chicken, has a really weird shrimpy aftertaste. I almost was afraid I'd gotten a piece of shrimp rather than chicken. It's not present in EVERY piece, but it was enough that I was quite confused. This can potentially be a sign of chicken that is out of date, so I'm hoping that was not the case as I ate quite a bit of it as a quick lunch.
AND lastly, the chicken was horrifically overcooked. Super tough and hard to eat, even when it was hot and fresh. It needs to be fried for waaay less time.
In the end, the K-dogs were an 8/10, and the chicken was a 2/10. I haven't tried the egg toast, but should I return, I'll update my review!
UPDATE: Returned here as of recently. As always, K-dogs were right on the money, tasted delicious and were even better than I remember. The chicken, however... Well, it didn't taste like shrimp, so that was nice! This time around though, it was still a bit tough. More edible than last time but regardless. This one is odd though, despite smelling AND tasting better, made me incredibly nauseous and sick after eating. I thought it wasn't this- I'd eaten a couple new things that day, so when I ate the left overs later and felt the same way, I deduced it was this. Listen, I'm not sure what the problem is, but two times in a row, months between them, and the chicken is still an issue, there has to be some better training on food safety and handling that can be done. I know the horrors of working in food service, but I also never was lazy nor lax enough to risk getting someone ill. I'm starting to think the chicken is not being handled correctly at all and will likely not be returning for the foreseeable future till I see a change...

I typically refrain from leaving reviews, especially negative ones, but I feel compelled to share my experience at K-Stop, as I believe there are significant areas for improvement.
Following church, my wife, our three children, and I visited K-Stop after our brother-in-law recommended it. Unfortunately, I found the establishment to be less than accommodating for families. The only item that seemed suitable for children was the fries. We attempted to order chicken bites for our kids, but they were unavailable, and we were informed they would not be ready until later due to marination processes. Consequently, we had to opt for regular chicken wings, which came in only 6 or 12-piece servings and did not include any sides. While the wings were somewhat satisfactory, I was disappointed with the rice cakes, which appeared to be pre-packaged microwave items.
Additionally, the drink options were limited, with no diet beverages available. The corn dogs were hit-or-miss and not particularly kid-friendly. The menu lacked cohesion, as drinks, sides, and entrees were all priced separately, which added to our overall dissatisfaction. For a family of five, our bill exceeded $100, which felt excessive for such a small venue.
I believe that if you are promoting Korean cuisine, it is essential to ensure that the flavors and quality reflect that standard. Furthermore, the service left much to be desired, as we waited over 30 minutes for our food.
It is my impression that the establishment may benefit from more effective management oversight. I would be willing to assist in improving the operations, as I have experience in running a business and believe I could contribute positively.
Unless there are significant changes to pricing, management, and overall quality, I cannot recommend K-Stop to others. I appreciate your attention to this matter, and I wish you the best in...
Read moreINTRO: I was extremely excited to try this new Korean street food restaurant out. As a Korean American living in North Carolina, I wanted to support their business especially since Winston-Salem is in dire need of a good Korean restaurant. Unfortunately, I will have to continue to wait for that time to come because I was not impressed with K Stop.
THE WAIT: I know that K Stop recently opened and that they were unable to handle the influx of customers in the beginning, but I was hoping after a few weeks, the wait time would have decreased even slightly. I visited K Stop on Saturday evening at 6pm, and there was a 1.5 hour wait. I'm not sure why it would take this long since their menu appears simple, but everything is made-to-order so I can understand that the food can take some time to be prepared. But 1.5 hours for corn dogs and egg toast? That seems a bit excessive. I do hope that the workers were able to improve their efficiency and that the store manager improved their workflow to better handle large numbers of customers.
THE FOOD: I was utterly disappointed. The dough of all 5 corn dogs my group ordered was raw and undercooked. The rice cakes of the tteokbokki were extremely overcooked and lacked their traditional bouncy texture. The rice cakes literally disintegrated in my mouth. Additionally, in my tteokbokki (which literally means rice cakes in Korean), there were only 4 individuals pieces in my spicy sauce. Normally, there is supposed to be an abundance of rice cakes that the bowl is actually overflowing with them. The egg toast was also underwhelming because it is literally just egg and buttered toast. I didn't feel like the price was justified.
OVERALL: 5/10 - I will try this place out again in the next few months because I am hoping the manager will make the necessary changes based on all of the feedback they have been receiving, as they have SO...
