Kotta Japanese Grill — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

Restaurant was clean, staff was courteous and food was prepared quickly. My only issue is that the scallops are imitation. If you say scallops and they are imitation then they are not scallops. Scallops are NOT perfectly round and all the same size. They are also not super fishy tasting and tough. I asked the cook if they were real and he said yes and I said well they don’t look or taste like it. He said this company we get scallops from sends the whole big scallop and made like a large rectangle shape to demonstrate with his hands. 🤣 Apparently he doesn’t know what a scallop looks like. Today my service was horrible. The guy that took my order was too busy playing on his cell phone to properly greet me. The I place 2 orders When I arrived home my order was wrong. I call back to let them know my order was wrong and the guy argued with me telling me I placed the wrong order. He refused to remake my order and continued to tell me just because he was on his cell phone doesn't mean he lost his mind. I explained to him that I didn't not order shrimp because I'm allergic to shrimp and he went on to tell me that he would not have cooked my order if I was allergic to shrimp. Best flavor and best price!

Hands down my favorite Hibachi (chicken and veggies are my go-to) in the area! Carrots are phenomenally prepared to deliver a subtle sweet flavor as they melt in your mouth. Freshly, well prepared sushi. Sweet tea can not be raved about enough! I wish they sold it by the gallon. Everyone has always been pleasant and accommodating! Even whenever I arrived near closing once they offered for me to still "dine in" and I honestly believed it would have been "no trouble" to them.
